Hello all,

I recently finished UAKM again without any problems. I configured DosBox to use my Physical MT32 by changing the midi device settings to 1 which reflects my USB2Midi adapter. MT32 support was perfect.
Now I'm trying to do the exact same thing with PD, however every time I get into the game and change my MIDI settings to the Roland MT32, pressing TEST will crash the game (DOS4GW crash to DOS). Just pressing OK will show a "please wait while we initialize the MT32, this can take up to 15 seconds" message. Nothing is being sent to the MT32 at all.
I replaced the DOSBOX version and config from a known working MT32 config but still no go.. I'm starting to believe my GOG version of PD is buggy with MT32 support. Is anyone having a similar problem?

Hi,
I just tried this out and I'm having the same problem. Physical MT-32 (1st gen) works fine in UaKM but crashes TPD. I hadn't noticed this however because to be honest the game sounds better with a good General MIDI module which I have (a Roland SC-8850) and it works fine. I can highly recommend a Sound Canvas. I'm sure that's entirely unhelpful but I thought you'd appreciate at least someone can confirm your problem.

Thanks for confirming this! I think I'll go and look up my old CD's to see if it's something with the actual game and re-create my own game that way.

So after clearing harddrive space on my 486, installing my original copy of the Pandora Directive, I found out that the RolandMT32 option there is also crashing my computer with a DOS4GW error. Seems this never worked correctly?
After chosing Roland Sound Canvas (which is what my MT32 is hooked-up to) I was able to play the game through my MT32.

Seems this is a problem with the game and not with GOG.
