mrmamen: I have the same problem.
The big question is: Is the game completable with this bug? I can live with some glitches, but if I'm not able to finish it, I'm not sure if I bother playing at all.

plumgas: no you really won't enjoy it with this happening, if your driver is causing these problems you have only 2 options,

this problem can be on win 8 or win 7 & is graphic driver problem, at first I thought it was the never nvidia drivers but I have found this is incorrect. it can happen on onboard graphics & also graphic cards. I have 2 pc with identical graphic cards & using the same latest driver I found one works & the other doesn't.

the only option is play on another pc or change the graphic driver. if you have graphic card & also onboard on your system, setup overseer.exe under manage 3d settings in the nvidia control panel try both cards this way & if both drivers work this way try another pc.
Sad it I cannot replay this game. I just bought a brand new motherboard and video card earlier this year.

I do have a displayport on my motherbord, but I can't understand what value(s) I should change in the 3d settings for overseer.exe

the 3d settings are only to make sure the game uses the right card. changing the 3d settings makes no difference.
what is your graphic card & do you have on board graphics also

OK. Unfortunately I don't think my motherboard has a integrated graphics card. It is this one:
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-MPOWER-MAX-AC.html
For the card-GPU I have Nvidia GTX 970.

So what are my options? I could try to downgrade the drivers. If not I just have to find another older computer?

easy way to see if you have onboard graphics is just have a look in device manager in control panel,
the current nvidia card is the same as mine & there are no old drivers for this card. the drivers really don't need to be old as I have proved that the current nvidia drivers do work. I have it working on windows 8 with both intel & nvidea
however the same card on win 7 doesn't but the intel does. Now the system with my 970 did run overseer previously until I installed the new card. You don't need to find a old pc to run it just an alternative one.
Apart from waiting for the poisoned pawn remake has somebody meanwhile found out a solution or a working GPU driver for Overseer and GTX960?

I had almost given up. But in steam forum the user uka777 posted a soultion:
Download dgvoodoo2
http://dege.freeweb.hu/
and copy all the files in the MD folder into the game folder. The transparent objects are now gone.
