from memory the magnifying glass does not move, you move the objects to the magnifying glass ,to view your objects you move your mouse to the right.
you move the mouse to the bottom of the screen to get the movement

No, my crosshair dissapears and ther is no chessboard or anything. It supposed to be a left click to get an activator and a right click to make it go back to movement mode. I understand the mechanics but am not getting much of anything. It's too bad because I boought and played UAKM and Pabdora Directive. I played tex all the way back to Mean Streets.

I rechecked the game & it's only a left click that brings up the examine or the open command but holding the left button & moving to the magnifying glass or the open icon.
Right clicking the mouse gives you the cross on the cursor & does nothing else.
could it be that your mouse button assignment is set for wrong for the game, or you are not holding down the left button of the mouse while selecting .
