So I'm playing Overseer on my Windows 7 and I have a few issues:

- No music in game. Tried adjusting the MIDI device in the preferences. No dice.

- On the dialogue options, after I select one, there's a delay in the audio...so I always miss the first word of a conversation after selecting it.

- 16x9... I have a widescreen monitor so the picture is stretching. How do I get it back to 4x3 display?

Anyone have these issues?

Most GFX cards (even Intel :) )have a way to render 4:3 correctly without stretching in their configuration window. What GFX card do you have?

For MIDI device, I have "microsoft gs wavetable" selected.

My graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570.

Select "Microsoft MIDI Mapper". If this is not available, then go to Overseer folder, right-click on overseer.exe, select Properties and enable Windows 95 compatibility.

I followed the instructions on this thread for midi (and it worked perfectly for me):
http://www.gog.com/forum/tex_murphy_series/got_overseer_dvdversion_working_wonderfully_with_quality_81x64_midi_outputfinally

As for the Aspect Ratio, try this:
Go to the Nvidia Control Panel, under Display click 'Adjust desktop size and position'.
Under 'Scaling' tab, choose 'Aspect Ratio', ensure that 'Perform Scaling On' has 'GPU' selected.

Try running the game again, hopefully it is no longer stretched.
Thanks, guys.

These suggestions worked beautifully!

I still have the issue with the one-second delay in the conversations, but if there's no solution, I can always turn on captioning.
