I'm just replaying Overseer (first time the DVD version), however, I found a problem. Volume level is not always the same. For example, one part of a cutscene is louder (this is even visible in the introduction). All volume settings are on the maximum level. This problem wasn't present in the CD version. How to solve it?

Never encountered this problem myself, have my suspicions though.

First please make sure that any kind of Volume Normalisation options in you sounddriver are turned off
Secondly please make sure that Auto gain control and Normalisation matrices in your AC3 decoder are turned off.

Any more than that I cannot say. If it doesn't work could you please post your sys-specs?

Thanks...
I solved the problem myself by installing AC3Filter, which also solves the low volume problem in Wing Commander IV. Now Overseer works fine.

Hi. I was hoping to send you a private message, but it doesn't look like I can. :-\

I'm currently having the same issues with Overseer where the volume goes quiet and loud. I tried downloading that AC3 Filter. The first I found, my PC wouldn't let me; complaining it was a virus. Another one I found I installed, but it doesn't appear to have made any difference. Did you manage to get it to solve the issue completely, or did it come back the more you played? Was there anything specific you had to do with the filter to get it to work correctly?

Thanks
