Hi all. I've played and loved both UAKM and Pandora Directive on my PC, and now was looking forward to playing Overseer.

Unfortunately, I can't get it to work. When running it, I first get the System Checker, where I make sure that nothing is running (except my browser and "Start", which is Windows). Then I press Continue, the screen goes black, and shortly after returns with a "OVERSEER.EXE has stopped working" error screen.

These are the problem details from the error screen:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BEX
Application Name: OVERSEER.EXE
Application Version: 0.0.0.0
Application Timestamp: 35d1e799
Fault Module Name: OVERSEER.EXE

My computer is running Windows 7 32bit.
Graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
RAM 4.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz (6-6-6-18)
CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
I'd be happy to provide any additional info required.

Can somebody please help me get this game running on my computer? :)

have you set any compatability on the exe file as you need to set it as win 95 or 98

It had actually already pre-selected Windows 95 compatibility. So yeah, I'm running Win 95 compat

Nope. I get nothing at all. After getting past the launcher, the screen turns plain black for a few seconds, and then exits back to the Desktop with a "...has stopped working" error message

my only suggestion would be change lock video from "-1 to 1" at times it helps.
you find it in the texi.ini file which is under the gog folder

It was actually already set to 1. I tried changing it to -1, but that didn't help :(. Oh well, at least I bought it on a promo, so not that many bucks wasted.

I have written to support, but AFAIK they never answer any requests.

It must be related to your system as everyone else is playing it, look at your video driver to see if a change in driver would help.
It crashes for me on boot also. I am running CrossFire. How do I get this resolved ?

phame.ny: It crashes for me on boot also. I am running CrossFire. How do I get this resolved ?
In the past I remember the ATI control centre caused crashes with some people here & also dual video cards. closing the control centre & disabling one card did they trick. I always play overseer on one core.
Same case for me, and my video card is just some Intel Chipset. It was working before I reinstalled fddshow to make the green, double videos go away.

Now the game has gone away xD
Same thing to me.

When I start it, I hear a short sound and it immediately crash back to Windows XP desktop with an error message.

I am using a nVidia card.
UPDATE: I tried both on Windows 7 64 and Windows XP 32 bit.

Any of you experiencing the crash has, like me, Virtual Cool Midi installed by any chance?

Try uninstalling it and run the game again... It might crash the first time but try running a second time or a third time after it. It eventually worked for me (showed the menu and the mouse icon at least)
