For some reason the game crashes while I'm exploring outside the cells while in Alcatraz. This happening to anyone else???

Found a cheat - press Alt+D to deactivate the droid. At least you can finish the game.

i had this problem on alcatraz and on the mayan like ruins place, fixed it by reinstalling the game, and keeped the save files

This is a well documented issue, there are a few work-arounds available throughout the board.

Where??? The Alt-D thing doesn't work and the GOG tech folks don't seem to care. As of this point my game is umplayable an dI ma not happy.

ghollman: this happened to me the first time last week, all the years I,ve played overseer it never happened. Found it happened when you go around the corner near where where the stairs have a construction sign. to bypass it go straight to the cells I thing "C" block don't go around the corner. this is the cell you will need the key to open. This is where you should be heading anyway. I have never found the ALT-D key to work only at gideons mansion.

Just don't go to the place it crashes (after the left turn).
The gate you need to enter is right after the turn (the locked one).

Use the wire on the floor to get the key and enter.

After that point it no longer crashes.
