I definitely think Overseer is the best Tex Murphy game out there, and I'm sad it didn't seem to really get the appreciation that I think it deserves. Mostly, I thought the story and writing was top-notch, and the acting by most was great. Chris Jones had some of the best moments in the game. (Wouldn't a Tex Murphy movie be pretty sweet...)

My favorite line was between him and Big Jim Slade. It takes place during their fight. Tex has just gotten in several relatively weak hits in, and Slade knocks him up against a railing:
Slade: Ow! That wasn't too fair!
Tex Murphy: Are you ok?
Slade: Well, yeah.
Tex Murphy: [shaking his head] That's too bad.

Slade was the one person I disliked, until I heard he was australian & then I thought he must not be that bad after all.

The fight with Jim in the clocktower in Overseer - one of the first choices you get, when he asks 'Any last requests?', if you pick the option 'Run for the lift', Tex says 'Yeah, give me three steps!' and runs. Jim grins and shoots him down. Its the funniest thing ever, Chris Jones played it in such Monty Python slapstick style that I just kept laughing for about ten minutes... my ribs were hurting.

I know I really loved Overseer. I think the only reasons it wasn't as well recognized are:
* For die-hard (or long-time) Tex Murphy fans, the story line was very similar to Mean Streets. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I think remakes are fine especially with such a dramatic step up for Tex to go to FMV, but the story line wasn't as big of a shocker having grown up on Mean Streets.
* The original version had some glitches and crashes when I got it that made it difficult to progress. Now that GOG is around, though, I have beat Overseer and it is a very close 2nd favorite of mine to Pandora Directive.
As for my favorite Tex Murphy moments, I have several, but Pandora Directive in Tex's Office has some real gems...like finding out why he is called Tex in the first place :)

My favourite moment has to be in UAKM where he finds his wife cracking onto the upholsterer! This is funny to me because I used to work in a furniture factory and all the upholsterers looked like the guy and no way could they score a hottie like Tex's first wife unless she was a total nympho! Oh poor Tex......

Another good moment in UAKM is when he is trying to get Pugs head out of the water cooler. Not going to work Tex, not going to work... :P

My favorite moments are all prank calls.
"I am Gandalf, wielder of Glamdring and slayer of the Balrog."

Under a Killing Moon:
"Eww, sick! A yucky bandaid!"
(Guard steps on a rake and gets knocked out) "Heh. Idiot." (Tex then walks right into a pole)
Overseer:
"Humphrey Bogart: My one true inspiration!"
"Ahh, Parcheesi. The Royal Game of India. In my book, Parcheesi, Twister and Ms. Pac Man are the triumvirate of competitive gaming."

Somehow that explanation still goes over my head. Must be some childhood thing I got deprived of :(

First thing that comes to my mind is the phrase he says when he leave Roswell in Pandora; Has this powercell really been made in a galaxy lightyears away? What would a handgrenade look like to an alien?

Oh and also the first thing he says when stepping out of the office Day one in UAKM; I like to start the day with the genuine P.I. breakfast; *lights a cigarette and coughs* HrrMmm, that really hits the spot.

The hole he leaves in the ceiling after the horse throws him through it is in the shape of Texas.

Also, the "worst" ending in The Pandora Directive, with the throwback to the deaths in Under a Killing Moon is one of my favorite points.

Oh. That kinda explains it all, doesn't it. XD Good thing I know my american geography, eh?

There's so many good ones. So many of the full motion videos are amazingly well done.

I reckon though that the coolest moment for me was the end of Overseer when we hear "Things could get worser." and what happens happens.

It was so awesome because it was like a promise of things to come: a guarantee that Tex's adventures would continue soon...

UAKM When you meet with Franco Franco. Getting greedy instead of asking about the crystal statuette, with his response Tex "come one can't I ask two questions?" "No." Of course if you get that response you die but I still love it as well as the multitude of banter options that you have with him.

UAKM and tossing his gun out the window, right from the beginning it let me know I was playing a different type of game.

I quite like the watercooler gags. In UAKM getting Pugs head out of it. In TPD " I had to replace it after the.... err.... incident". And then in overseer, investigating the attic, where he thinks that maybe someday he will have a watercooler in his office....
