No idea if they still do them, but youtube search for "Yrmir", they used to do loads of Terraria clips, including some machines to farm items & boss fights.
Could always give hints for things to do/build :)

Yrimir hasn't done any mob grinders and farming setup videos since around 1.1 or 1.2 at least. he's mainly been sticking to his traditional crazy boss kill videos. I don't think many are doing any right now either, most are too busy doing playthroughs of 1.3 on both normal and expert but mostly expert. The last few I found were Frost moon event mob grinders for console players since that was the last update they got, they are still two updates behind PC as they still need 1.2.4 which was the fishing update and of course 1.3 which may take sometime since the team who did the coding for 505 Games(who published the console and mobile versions) Engine Software, are currently doing the Terraria: Other World spin off for Re-logic while Red focuses on whatever his next project is.

But I know quite a few Terraria console players and console youtubers are going to be miffed when 1.3 does drop on consoles as they can no longer "cheat" via developer items since they are finally obtainable through legit means but also got nerfed at least for those who aren't part of the dev team anyway. Like I'm sure Red, Cenix, Loki, and the rests stuff still has there original properties for them.

Ah that`s a shame, their clips used to be handy/interesting.
I`d guess that some of the earlier machines still work & anything that`s new could be adapted to those.
Guess that shows how long since I`ve been anywhere near youtube hehe
Need some silly decor tips. :P

People who have seen my stuff notice that I like to encase 'gardens' in my walls, usually in the form of a single row of glowing mushroom with a glass wall.

Problem is, if that's all I make it, it tends to leave my fort in perpetual darkness, so I'm looking to throw something else in there, but only if it has a nice glow of some kind (regular grass isn't going to work!). :P

Blinkroot is nice but it only lights up every now and then AND you need to plant a separate one for EVERY tile. How about Shiverthorn? Can I get it to grow encased and with a glass wall?

Any other suggestions?
Little help with an annoyance, please:

Desert biome, all that loose sand. Is there a way to either:

A) turn it into something harder while still in the ground so it doesn't constantly cascade down as you're mining below it.

or

B) simply slap another block right in the same spot, something harder that doesn't fall (simple dirt block, for instance)

?

I don't think so.

If you want to keep the sand intact, all you can do is dig down until you get under the sand. Would be kind of cool to have some kind of cement or something you could fling (kind of like purification powder) and convert it to hardened sand, but I don't think there's any way to do what you are talking about.

I'm sure when they all get bored running through normal 1.3 and then expert mode 1.3 alot will come up with new trap and mob grinder ideas especially if the team does anything, especially another mob event, for the upcomming holidays like they have since 1.1 when Red introduced the snow biome, the Santa NPC and frost legion around Xmas time with 1.1.1 and then for 1.2 with the Pumkin moon for Halloween and Frost moon event for the winter holiday.
If my Angler dies is there any way to get a new one?

He'll respawn naturally, most likely at some point during the next day unless an event is going on (iirc. Rain counts as an event for this).

Yeah, he just did. I was a little thrown because of the special 'He Left' message. :P

Yeah, another one'll come later. That message threw me, too, though, the one time I got it during a goblin invasion (if memory serves). Other NPCs were dying, then I got a message that my Angler left. "WTF...?!" It happened off-camera, I think, so I don't even know if he truly left, or if he died, and the message was just really kooky.

Child character and potential rating issue with death.
From today's changelog:
The final boss's attacks now use their own cooldown for immunity due to how naughty some of our players have been
I smell a funny story here, but I only started playing this week and don't get it. Can anyone clarify?

Some people were (ab)using certain enemy spawning statues so they'd repeatedly take 1 point of damage and then be immune to damage for ~1 second. Instead of taking 200+ damage from the boss' attacks.

Oh that old trick, I remember when people were doing that to tank the mechanical bosses with a block of metorite or hellstone. I wonder if they also nerfed the heart statues too since you can wire up a bunch of them with 1 second timers and get a ton of hearts to help you heal yourself while waiting for the cooldown on potions.

At some point either players or the devs are going to have to give here. This is what the third or fourth thing the devs had to nerf to keep players from cheesing the Moon Lord fight, the biggest was the nerfing of Specter Armor and Vampire Knives(due to their leeching ability) during the fight, followed by adding a debuff effect to the fight that kept players from healing with anything other then potions including the nurse..

At this rate either Players will have to stop trying to cheese the fight or the devs are just going to nerf just about everything in the game.
