I found the marble biome. that was a great surprise; I had no idea it was a thing. then I killed medusa and got her snake-head weapon. I am Perseus! Now I just need to find pegasus, and I"ll be all set. Btw, if someone tells me there is a pegasus, i'll slap them out of pure joy.

Now I"m contemplating a marble mansion or temple. *pulls at pretend beard*

Nice get with the Medusa head! I think that's kind of a rare-ish drop, so getting one on your first kill of Medusa is pretty good! Also, I'm pretty sure there is a PegasOUCH! Why the hell did you just slap me?!

My tired eyes had me wondering for a moment why you would pull at pretend bread, and what it meant. (Sigh.) I think it's time for bed. ¦ )

Actually, Weaponized Fruitcake is an awesome name for a band.

Didn't get mine until around 150 dead medusae. Tried it, found it wasn't particularly effective as a weapon, sold it. If I get another one in this new world then maybe I'll keep it to put on display.

I have two Medusa Heads and they are kind of useless. :P You need time to let it charge up and your average boss isn't really keen on standing still for that. XD

Well someone told be it was great for the old man skeleton thing. SO I set up, set off the curse, charge up the head, and get the shit kicked out of me by those damn hands before I can set it off. XD

Stuff I've gotten from Christmas presents (in-game) so far: eggnog, candy cane & pine tree blocks, a wreath, a couple of Mrs. Claus outfits, some star anise (like shuriken, apparently...haven't tried 'em out yet), Christmas cookies & some other stat-boosting consumable (all "unwrapped" by my secondary character -- my primary hasn't opened any gifts yet). The only special non-present drop that I think I've gotten so far is a bow (the vanity headgear kind, not the ranged weaponry kind) that my primary character got.

Maybe it's just the more fun "spooky-but-not-really" vibe, but I'd say, all in all, the Halloween seasonal event is way better than the Christmas one.

Well, the Christmas Event was implemented much earlier (game version-wise), so the content isn't that important or useful. I doubt that I will play Terraria this season, as I'm busy scouting Mira in XCX.

Besides the Snow Globe (if you want a visit from Santa) there are three special things you can get from presents:

Hand Warmer - Very useful if you ever intend to go up against the Frost Moon.
Toolbox - Can be quite helpful for builders.
Dog Whistle - Second cutest pet (the black cat is far cuter)

With Terraria version 1.3.x the effect of the Hand Warmer has been added to the Ankh Charm and Ankh Shield iirc.

I once made a mess with the frost moon - set spawning to 1 tick and maximum spawns to 100 - insanity³. xD

The Ankh Charm/Shield does not protect from Frozen, which is a major annoyance (or danger) in later waves of the Frost Moon.
