dtgreene: If you build the bridge high enough, couldn't the meteor spawn below that? I have read of falling stars spawning inside structures in space.
I don't know. I've never actually tried building in "space", though in a small world that's not a very big zone. I've never looked up any info on how meteor landings actually work -- obviously they originate from somewhere at the top of the map, but it may not be the very top.

BTW, do you still not own the game yet? It might not be the best idea, spoiling all the gameplay and mechanics for yourself before ever actually playing it. I still kind of regret watching so much of a let's play of it before I actually purchased it.

¿? I'm sure there's a lame joke in there, but it flew by me.

I do own the game, but haven't played it (unless you count viewing the title screen as having "played" it.)

Monty Python

-How do you tell if she is made of wood?

Why the fuck is there corrupt grass (???) growing on stone in the underground jungle? How do I get rid of it?

Uh oh seems that the corruption is spreading into the jungle :P Purification powder sold by the dryad should do the trick to get rid of it, at least locally.

I can mine out what I see, but there's a lot of this shit in isolated patches. How come it's there in the first place? And on stone? Chickens are not supposed to do cocaine.

You haven't defeated the Wall of Flesh by any chance have you? I quickly checked out the wiki :
http://terraria.gamepedia.com/The_Corruption
and apparently, in hardmode, the corruption can turn stone into ebonstone, and deathweed can grow on that. But corrupt grass? That's not supposed to be on stone. Can you upload a screenshot?

Yes. This is it. Whoa, that's a huge load off my mind. All the plusses.

No, I still have two more bosses until WoF. I haven't even reached the Underworld. Still digging here and there at the cavern level, trying to find rare drops.

Yeah it's easy to get sidetracked. I spent a solid afternoon designing and building an automatic bunny killer, complete with flashing neon lights and fireworks >:D

Terrarian dispatches, part the next.

Day 2 of digging in the jungle: found a shrine and a Staff of Regrowth in it. Finished crafting a stack of buckets. Things are easier now. Finally got a depth meter (from a jungle bat) and made the GPS.

Day 3: found two more shrines. Still no anklet. The tunnel ends at the temple now (I had reached it through a side passage before), so a new tunnel is needed. Doing fishing quests. The Lifeform Analyzer detected a Lost Girl in the snow caverns, but I didn't have a Hunter Potion on me, too bad. Finished crafting Jungle equipment, now using Blade of Grass instead of the phaseblade. Found a Skeleton Merchant, bought 10 treasure-detecting glowsticks.

I'm ignoring Blood Moons now and reluctantly fighting Goblin Invasions.

Queen Bee is dead! Started another tunnel and immediately found a hive. Cleaned up the place a little, set platforms, put up a campfire and the lamps, equipped all the weapons. The spawns were seriously hurting me and the battle was going nowhere, then I started spamming Water Bolt. Things improved immediately, and the spawns helped out by providing healing and mana replenishing ephemera. Got the honeycomb and the bow.

Day 4: Found an Extractinator in a wooden crate while doing fishing quests. Immediately processed all the silt/slush I'd saved up, earned $70. Got twice as many diamonds as amber.

Building fishing spots for quests. Got a hat. Two zephyr fish now, still no pufferfish. The Lifeform Analyzer detected a Lost Girl while I was fishing in the snow caverns, but it despawned while I was opening the inventory to drink a potion.

Built a reservoir/generator for honey immediately below my floating base. The base itself is in dire need of renovation again. The jungle is actually very fun to explore. Found a fiberglass fishing pole, among other stuff. Got a bezoar. Accidentally wasted 1 glowstick.

Day 5: fished some more, got the shirt, the fishing manual, the fishing line and finally the pants.

Discovered I hadn't been actuallly using the minecart, equipped it properly.

Accidentally wasted 2 more treasure glowsticks. Found three living mahogany trees with an anklet in the third one. Now I only need the flower boots.

Found the Skeleton Merchant with a green counterweight on offer in the afternoon. Because I don't have a sextant yet, I decided to camp out until evening, but for some reason he had a green counterweight again this night. Waiting more would've got me over the time limit, plus I still didn't know the exact phase of the moon, so pissing off security for a 50% stab at a lantern wasn't a good option. Maybe later. Stocked up on glowsticks, though.

Anyway, I have the anklet now, so Skeletron dies tonight.

In a bit of irony, the Bee Gun that Queen Bee drops is a pretty good weapon to use against... Queen Bee.

That bee gun also kicks the shit out of anything in the dungeon, and what it does to Eye of Cthulhu is sadistic.
But don't even think about using it in the hardmode Dungeon. xD
