This is weird. I was comparing the GOG release to the game running on real DOS, and I could swear the difficulty level is not the same.

On DOS, running on the default scenario builder options (pit map, default enemies and team, average difficult) I'm usually able to clear the scenario albeit with some trouble. Enemies are relentless, but not too overpowering. Sometimes even one or two of my party members make it to the end with me.

On Dosbox, well, the enemies seem to go berserk. My team gets obliterated within seconds, and I don't last much longer.

Granted, it might be a placebo effect. But I've tried several times and the result is always the same.
It's possible dosbox is setup with too high cpu cycles which makes the AI act too fast, you could try lowering it with Ctrl-F11.

I left it as GOG configured it. I wouldn't go any lower, since already the game is choppy enough as is.

Maybe I'll just play it on DOS, although there are some annoying issues there too (the hard drive works like a beast when you save/load anything, almost like the game was running in PIO mode or something).

Well, I'm with Malek, I have hit a solid brick wall with mission #17 (Operation Conductor).
Impossible.
Simple as.

Unless of course you drop down to the lowest difficulty level.... but that's a bit of a pussy option really! :D
