Maybe this mode unlocks after completing the main game?
About two weeks ago, when I launched GOG Galaxy I got a huge update of the "Terminator: Resistance". But - granted - it has been my first launching of it for about 4 months, so it could have been an earlier update.

No, its automatically available on the main menu regardless of main game completion.
The update is definitely not available here yet, what you downloaded was the a rather large patch released months ago that fixed bugs and improved the difficulty.

GOG support answer:

[i]I'm afraid that you should reach game's official support for ETA. We at GOG support do not have such knowledge. You can reach the game's developer at:
support@teyon.com

From our side- we already reached to developer on about this update. When it will be available for GOG users, we will update the GOG version of the game.[/i]
