I've crafted a couple things, like a shielding brooch, which SEEMS to have unlimited charges. Will it run out eventually? Honestly, I pass it around 4 characters and share it like a community cigarette. I would keep it to a minimum if it ran out.

I think the Brooch of Shielding has unlimited uses. But keep in mind that if a character is wielding a shield, the Shield effect won't stack with it.

Oh I know. My front-line fighters are a glaive and a a two-handed warrior. Honestly, every party member except my cleric can get use out of it.

Now to be fair, unless I simply misplaced it, it seems that it DOES run out of charges. It has a LOT, but suddenly the guy I thought was wearing it doesn't have it anymore. I would laugh if I just put it somewhere stupid.

Actually, it might be unlimited for some things, like the Helmet of Read Magic. I've used it non-stop, way more than the brooch, and it hasn't run out yet. Unless they simply gave it an absurd number of charges.

Wondrous items all have different rules on how many charges they have, and so forth - it's kind of a "miscellaneous" category of magic item. Most of the items are from official d&d 3.5 content, and can be found . The Brooch of Shielding, in pen and paper, can absorb up to 101 points of damage from magic missiles. That site, incidentally, contains information on all the vanilla items as implemented by ToEE, although it doesn't cover Co8 items.

As for the Helm, which is an item made up by Co8, it's got unlimited charges and explicitly serves the purpose of saving you from having to rest 30 times to identify all your scrolls and potions at high levels.
