Grabbed it cause apparently it's nearly mandatory. I installed, let it make it's own folder, and used the TFE-X application to launch the game and got a startup error that says: "Could not detect a valid, compatible version of Temple of Elemental Evil in the current folder. Please make sure you're running ToEE Front-End X from the root game folder and that the Atari Patch 2 (did some research and found that the GOG version already has it) is installed, then try again."

Am I supposed to drag this folder and drop it into the Temple of Elemental Evil folder in the GalaxyClient folder? Or did I mess up somehow?

You messed up.
Double click the Circle of Eight Modpack Setup utility to begin installation. When prompted to choose an installation location, make sure to select the location where your game is installed. The default location as defined by the Circle of Eight Modpack is C:/Temple of Elemental Evil.
That is not the default GOG install path. Not sure if just dragging it will work, but certainly uninstalling & reinstalling Co8 to the correct folder will.
Alright so all I need to do is reinstall the standard and new content things, and make their folders go inside the Temple folder. Right? Then I just use the TFE-X launch thingy, do I have to pick a specific one or will either 1 do?

You install either the standard edition or new content, but not both. Then use TFE-X to activate Co8 and launch the game.
Ok uninstalling the standard then and gonna install the new content thing. The launcher thing looked like it could let you pick between standard or new content, but I'll just go with what you said.
Finally installed, seems to be working, was lagging but don't know if that's normal, or cause I have NWN2 downloading right now. But thanks for the help.

I downloaded Co8 mod, saved it in C:/Temple of Elemental Evil. When I did it asked if I wanted to replace the pre-existing file named with that name. I still get that same message about "Could not detect a valid, compatible version of Temple of Elemental Evil in the current folder. Please make sure you're running ToEE Front-End X from the root game folder and that the Atari Patch 2 (did some research and found that the GOG version already has it) is installed, then try again." This patch does work with the disc based version right?

What does the disc based version have to do with the GOG version. Go read (again) the Co8 mod directions.
