I’m playing TOEE (with the COE patch ) with Win 7. Everything was running fine, but now ALL my save games are corrupted –even quick save. When I make a new save file it is corrupted. Anyone know how I can fix this? Or do I need to just restart my game?

I'm afraid you'll have to restart. ToEE has a huge bug concerning the use of the quicksave option and the automatic save option (upon entering new maps). Don't use the first and make sure the latter is turned off (options menu -> preferences).

I think the read me file for COE specifically tells you not to use quick saves once you've installed it as it causes corruption.

O_O how did I miss that?! I always read everything carefully.. ah well, there's been no problem so far, so I'll just stop using it and I'll be fine, probably?

The suggestions on the Co8 forums are to avoid the quicksave and the autosave. TOEE saves can corrupt without the modpack.

Ok i just saw this.....

I got to level 7 again and it looks like.... my saves are corrupted.

I started over once for a bug already.

i decided to buy another great game from GOG and play it.

TOEE was soo aweseom adn fun until the multitiude of bugs on bugs on bugs just drove me nuts.

Co8 guys have made the game much much better and modded it over and over to fix the damn thing. I know they added content too... and fixing bug first is priority but I can't blame them for wanting to put some creativity in besides which their new content is awesome as well.....

Im just sooo dissapointed that the original programmers/production team on this game were so sloppy. I've only once ever played a game with as many bugs and taht was a just released game. This game has been getting fixed for a decade plus and is still bugged all to hell.

Not a rip off though, I am still glad GOG put this out there and one day I will go back and try a new party and keep a cheatsheet next to my computer off all the things not to do and to avoid because they are still hopelessly bugged. For now I have lost patience for TOEE and am playing some other stuff from GOG, not like they got a shortage of titles.

Oh and if I forgot to mention it the bugs in TOEE ruined the game for me. Oh I already said that? I must be really frustrated about it.

I remember hearing the studio got rushed to put this out the door before it was really ready.

Had a whole bunch of corrupts, but none after giving up on quicksaves.

Ah, ok. A little further and now I can't make a working save anymore no matter what. Reached level 9 and every save I make is now a corrupt one, still got a working save but no way to continue.

Started over. When quicksave or autosave was not used a single time, there was not a single corrupted save. I also avoided calling a familiar, as I started to suspect a dead familiar (not animal companion) leads to corruption.

Seems it's not enough to stop using quicksaves, if you've used it even once, you're infected and corruption will follow. Not sure but seems that way.

Finished the game, was fun if a bit insane hard at some points.
