Does anyone know how to receive posting privileges at the Co8 forum? I wanted to try out Rudy's Item Mod, but apparently without privileges you can't download post attachments there.
If I'm not mistaken you have to wait for an admin to verify your account. I think they did this to avoid problems caused by spamming bots.
Just wait a day or two, you'll get a message from one of the admins.
So you have to instal 2 patches the a modpack to get the MO8 working? Am I right?

No

From https://co8.org/community/threads/circle-of-eight-modpack-installation-instructions.6695/
GOG: pre-patched. You don't need to apply any Atari patches.
Follow the instructions in that thread.

That is up to you. See the information about the NC packs here: https://co8.org/community/threads/the-circle-of-eight-modpack-explained.7737/#post-141323

The names next to the "NEW CONTENT EXPANSION [N]" headings are links to each of the new content threads. Beware of spoilers.

I've never played the game. I love the older games much better than new ones. I would love a vanilla experience with WS support to play at 1080p with bugs fixed.

There's no such thing as vanilla with ToEE. Unfortunately. Ofc unless you're actually willing to play the unmodded Patch 2 version. But that's not for the faint of heart as I understand (or just stupid, depends on how one looks at it).

Install and activate the Co8 (no new content, though it still carries fan made stuff) and play through Temple+. That's pretty much the way you'd want to play unless you have special needs.
Where can I find installation tips?

Thanks.

StuffyouonaMatress: Where can I find installation tips?

Thanks.
0) If you're unwilling to search for even the most basic info (which is readily available) yourself, you're in for a world of pain with this game (and we're in for a bunch of stupid questions).
Maybe try another? Anyway, ho-hum, you've been warned, here goes...

1) Download and install the GOG distribution to something like C:\toee

2) Download and install Java.
It's only needed for the Co8 launcher, and can be removed after the launcher has served its purpose.

3) Download the Co8 (probably the no new content version for the first time playing).

4) Start installing the Co8 modpack.
Point it to your installation directory (C:\toee) and begin the installation.
When the progress bar finishes the first step of the Co8 installation is complete.

5) On to the Co8 launcher, TFE-X.
Start it if the installer hasn't done so already.
Here you only need to click on the line saying Co8 modpack and then click Activate (bc by default it's not activated).
Another progress bar will appear.
After it has finished we can close TFE-X and forget about it.
If you've done everything right, you can remove Java now.

6) Download Temple+ eg from their github page.
There are options available - an installer (.exe) and a plain archive (.zip). I'll describe the latter, bc that's what I'm using.
Unpack the archive to whichever location you want. eg Desktop\tp.
It carries two executables - TemplePlusConfig.exe and TemplePlus.exe.
The former is an interface (.Net based) to T+'s config file (Users/<username>/Saved Games/TemplePlus/TemplePlus.ini).
You probably want to set the resolution you want. 1600x900 is the max I'd use. I'd leave the House Rules button alone for now.

7) All set, just launch the TemplePlus.exe and enjoy.
The intro is disabled in the T+ .ini by default, I don't remember if it still plays on starting a new game.

Yes I was looking at temple plus. So it's part of Co8? I know it's available on it's own. I will get it.

fcuk knows what gave you this idea. But no, it's not a "part" of it. Nor it has anything to do with it at all. However it will sort of "recognize" if you have Co8 installed.
Anyway you have to have both (and play with the T+ executable) for the best possible experience

OK Thanks Temple Plus and CO8 w/out changes.

katakis: For those who don't know about this nifty pack: as the authors put it, it's "A bugfix, rules compliance, and expanded content modification for Troika's 'The Temple of Elemental Evil.'". It's really massive, and in my humble opinion, it's a must have - you should play pure vanilla ToEE only to learn the basics of this game.

Hi, do I must have to install Javascript before install Co8? Just curious.
Does it matter if Java is 32 or 64 bit? I want to make sure. And can uninstall jave onve it's done.
Thanks
