The final version of the mod as well.
Anyone know if there's anything major added since 7.6 or thereabouts?

Have to try one of these days if it'll make win 8.1 squeek or not.

Mod comes with a "what's new/changes" file...works fine for me in 8.1x64.
I'm having trouble with my install of the New Content pack (v 8.0.0, though the v8.0.1 doesn't fix it). Having installed the game from the GOG setup (and not into program files, obviously) I've run the installer, and everything seemed fine. However, when I try to activate the modpack in TFE-X, I get this message:

ToEE Front-End X encountered a serious error:
IO Exception when determining the size of package: invalid CEN header (bad signature)

The program is unable to continue and will now close.
(followed by some information about reporting the bug to the Co8 forum, which I can't yet do as I'm waiting for my account to be checked by a moderator. It also asks for my TFE-X.log, which is here.)

Does anyone know what I've done wrong/what's wrong?

EDIT: I managed to ask on the Co8 forums, and it turns out I needed to install Java 7, as Java 6 couldn't handle the size of file it was using.

Hi, i recently reinstalled ToEE, attempting to give this buggy mess another go with the CoE mod (which i just found out about). I have just one, rather big issue, i can't seem to download it at all. All availab le download links to the latest version (or any version for that matter) are refered to filefront which always gives me a dead link when i try to download it.

I currently live in Taiwan, and have been reading up on some posts claiming filefront has blocked a ton of countries although i can't find Taiwan in any list.

Eitherway, does anyone have alternative download link for v 8.0.1 (or v8.0.0 + patch 8.0.1)?

Much appreciated!
OK.....just installed TOEE from GOG. Downloaded the latest CO8 mod and told the mod to install to C:\GOG Games\ Temple of Elemental Evil !
I get an "unable to execute file"
C:\ GOG Games\Temple of Elemental Evil\ TFE-X.exe
Create process failed; code 2
The system cannot find the file specified

1. Is the GOG version patched to atari 2 or 3?
2. Do I need to install TOEE somewhere else
3. What gives?

Thanks in advance, have been looking all over the place for an answer, before posting here!
Hello, I just bought ToEE from GoG. I then downloaded the Co8 newest mod but when i get to installing the front end part, i get an error:

Operation Error
ToEE Front-End X encountered a serious error:
IO Exception when building a package: ZIP file must have at least one entry

The program is unable to continue and will now close.

I chose the folder containing the installed game which on my PC is C:\games\temple of elemental evil

I'm assuming i could just install the Co8 mod after a fresh GoG install. Did i assume wrong? Do i actually need to load the atari patch 1 & 2 first still? Again, i assumed the GoG version of 2014 comes with both of those official patches already installed.

Please help :)

Frank

Guess we won't get any answers here !

Uninstalled everything. Re-installed TOEE directly to c drive. Re-downloaded and installed CO8 mod.....same result.

Uninstall everything.....will find another game to play!

That sucks bud :(

Here's how stupid i am...after doing tons of research on making this work with the GoG version, i somehow got it to work! I think i went into the registry and changed something with the game then reinstalled the game and the mod worked. BUT after playing through the opening village, i read that there is a placed called Welkwood Bog that was a GREAT spot and that's when i realized i had the "Standard" edition not the extra content one so i didn't have the bog zone. So i tried switching over to the content mod and now i fucked the whole thing up and nothing works again and i don't feel like spending hours again researching the steps that brought me to fix it the first time

Anyway, good luck to you...If i do get motivated and try to figure it out again i'll tell you because now i get the error you have, not the one i orignally posted
Thanks dude. I've installed mods for a lot of games and appreciate what the modding community does but there is no sense playing a broken game!
If I have to go in and start changing registry files and crap, forget it ...............really not worth the effort!

What gets me is apparently some people have no problem with the GOG version and the CO8 mod!
Well I WAS getting ready to play this game and happened to notice this thread.. Wow GOG should really tell you they are selling you a broken game and you have to download and install Java and some crap mod that may or may not work.. I don't use Java on any of my machines nor do I plan to... Yup, this pisses me off.

Had this exact same problem myself... turns out I was trying to install the 8.0.1 patch without first installing 8.0.0.
Once I installed 8.0.0 everything was peachy.

Well that's diffinetly some BS ! My understanding from reading about the patches at CO8 was 8.0 and 8.1 were the same, except 8.1 included extra content!

Will try, FOR THE LAST TIME, tomorrow................Thanks dude!
It's a hit and miss. For most the game works just fine with or without Co8.
(as long as it's not in programs folder and still probably needs to run as admin)

And then for some it doesn't work, but the next time it's installed it does work,
without apparent changes.

I'd suggest the best course is install the game and see if it runs.
Then install Co8 if it does.

Have you ever read the instructions on CO8? I suspect.
A little advice to apply CO8 to your ToEE
1 Install GOG ToEE and make sure it can start
2 Check if you have Java .If not , install one(Java 7 best)
3 Install CO8 version8.0(about 500M) , Standard or New content version you like
4 Install CO8 8.01 patch (about 1M) , accord to above version

finally, you can have the game

Err......believe I read everything...........musta missed the part that said "You MUST install 8.0 before 8.1"!

Most updates include the previous fixes but, apparently this one does not!

Anyways , all is well now!
