While playing, my name is shown as empty. I cannot find anywhere in the options where I can set a profile name. At Steam it says that the game picks the profile name from the Steam account, so my assumption is that at GOG it will pick my GOG account name via Galaxy. However, I did not install the game with Galaxy but with the offline installers. Also, I have no intention to create a Nomad account as I do not intend to play online, only alone or with a friend via hotseat.

Is there any way for me to set a profile name (or at least force the game to show the name of the character I picked like it does for players 2-6)?

Thanks for your answer. I guess I will have to continue playing as is then. It's not the end of the world but it's still odd that I cannot create a profile name within the game itself.

This really is stupid for a game that features hotseat multiplayer. I imagine it would get a little confusing looking at the event log with multiple player names of "" (i.e., not even a default placeholder like "Player 1" like it shows elsewhere in the game -- just a small empty spot).

Another annoyance is that it's one of those games where there's a menu option that just says "Manual", with no indication that it's going to open a web page in your browser when you click it. Why do devs do stuff like this? (I also don't get why the DE manual couldn't have just been a .PDF in the game folder and/or built into the game menu, since the online manual seems to be mostly or entirely contained on a single page anyway.)

It's a decent game, but offline play really does seem like it was an afterthought.
