Same issue, compatibility settings have no effect either :/

EDIT/ Done some research on the Telltale games forums, apparently there's an issue with most Telltale games on Windows 8 and Windows 8 is an "unsupported platform".

EDIT2/ You can resolve the issue yourself by obtaining a copy of a Windows 7 RTM dinput8.dll and placing the file in the same folder as the games executable files. This will let you play the games until gog/telltale resolve the issue in the game packages.

I'm not sure if I can directly link to the file, however if you look at Telltale games support forums you will find links there.

Thanks! yeah I downloaded the dll, and it works now, also work on Sam and Max titles.

If anybody has the same problem, just Google to download the dll.

i downloaded and copied come versions of the file but the game doesnt start anyway.

Received Message from GOG.com that they currently cant support Win8 if it isn't supported by the game itself. Bummer... it's ok but... Bummer.

I got it to work!
Be sure to delete all files in "my documents\telltale games" after copy dinput8.dll to gamepath.
