I've really been enjoying ToMI so far and haven't been having any problems with it...but then I got to the Feast of the Senses quest in Chapter 4 and the whole thing sorta fell apart.
First the game kept crashing on me whenever I entered the jungle. A quick Google search revealed that I could fix that issue by removing a certain file from the game's folder. Worked like a charm...except now whenever I leave the jungle the music for that area continues playing. I didn't notice this problem until I got to Morgan's death scene, and what was supposed to be this big dramatic emotional moment was ruined for me by that goofy-ass marimba music still playing in the background. Thankfully I found out that I could fix that problem by just saving and reloading the game.
Also, whenever I open the Feast of the Senses Menu and click on the icons for the different senses that are supposed to show the hints for each step in the quest, the only one that works is the first one ("Put on a napkin that's a sight" etc.) When I click on the nose, the mouth, the brain, the hand, and the ear icons, the center of the screen where the text is supposed to show up is just blank. I didn't even realize this was a bug until I was forced to look at a walkthrough.
So after a great deal of frustration I finally made it to the scene where Guybrush and Elaine are captured by De Singe. I threw the sponge at the wind machine and got the fireflies to swarm around De Singe, and then...once again I found myself stuck. I tried clicking on everything in sight, using every single item in my inventory, but I couldn't seem to make anything happen. Finally I had to look at the walkthrough a second time and I realized that I just had to talk to De Singe to progress...only I can't. Nothing happens when I click on him. The stupid game softlocked me. I tried starting the whole chapter over, but the same thing happened.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, or have any idea what might be causing it?
EDIT: Yes I do realize that I'm basically at the end of the chapter at this point and may as well just look up the ending on YouTube or whatever, but I figured I'd still post about it on here just in case anyone else was having these same problems 'cause they kind of ruin an otherwise great game
