Did anyone notice horrible sound quality in second episode, especially talking to Elaine in the Royal Chamber?
I've searched the TellTale forum and found that it is a very old problem.
In this topic TellTale team confirm that they fix it and updated game on their site and on Steam.

http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11463&page=9]

So why here on GOG.com we ended with a version where this problem still exists?
This definietly should be fixed!

This question / problem has been solved by Calx9image
Yes, I noticed too, I though my headphones are crapped out O_o
Sadly they didn't ;)

GOG! We want upgraded version not only for better sound but for Earl Boen as LeChuck in ep. 1!
I'm playing ep 2 now and thought it was a problem with my headphones too until I read this! I hope GOG can get an updated version. I suppose GOG just get whatever telltale give them so maybe there isn't much they can do?

Still, I got this game in the sale so I don't mind putting up with a few problems.

If Steam can have upgraded version, so do GOG should! :)
Has anyone contacted GOG support about this matter?
Yup. I've contatced GOG via "Contact Us" in Support tab, but no response.
We need the updated version! Please someone contact GoG support.

Edit: I contacted GoG support and received the best help ever, this guy went over and beyond to help me! Hats off to the support team I don't think I will buy my games from another site again.

The Email-

Hi, thank you for your report.

You're right that the audio in our version was still the original lower quality sound.
I've forwarded the problem to our product team, so hopefully there will be no technical/licensing issues and we'll be able to get the proper version up as soon as possible.

We managed to retrieve the audio files in question, and I've taken the liberty of uploading them to our Dropbox account. You can grab them here:
I can't post links in forum but you can ask support for it or message me and I can send it to you!

Note that it's a fairly large file at 43Mb. After downloading, simply copy the file into the episode's Pack directory. By default, this would be:
C:\GOG Games\Tales of Monkey Island\The Siege of Spinner Cay\Pack

I hope this helps and you can enjoy the episode as intended by Telltale. We appreciate your bug report! Let us know if you have any other questions. :)

Konrad

Just download that patch and audio is fixed! :D

I've contacted support for the second time couple weeks ago, and recive information that they will investigate the problem.

But there shoudn't be any problem in the first place, since TellTale updated the game on their website and on Steam. Years ago!

Fixing the sound with some other file it's not the only reason for the updated version. The voice of LeChuck in ep. 1 was also chaged to Earl Boen's, so it matches later episodes!
For so many years we have broken, unpatched game here on gog.com (and still pretty expensive ;)). It makes me sooooo sad ;)

Thanks for the feedback, very useful to know! +1
I also contacted support and they gave me the audio too.
I tried before with Calx9 but he never answered me.

If someone wants the good audio can contact support.

That's great and all but why not include the proper audio file in the installer?

And what about Earl Boen LeChuck dub in episode 1? It is still missing. For historical reasons it is good to have original voice over but it would by even better to have both: Adam Harringto and Earl Boen. So I'm keeping the original installer and hope that someday updated version will arriave to GOG.

I don't understand what are you talking about for Earl Boen LeChuck dub in episode 1... I remember episode 1 to be full dub.

the guy how answer me said that telltales have to give them the autorization to include the new audio file for episode 2.

I've reinstall game today to be sure which dub it has and it's still Adam Harrington. Wiki: "Telltale later had Boen re-record the lines for LeChuck's demon incarnation in the first episode for the DVD release".
You can hear GOG dub here and new here: [url=https://youtu.be/rygOaL2zjng?t=33]LeChuck

My first post is almost three years old and still no autorization for something that can be consider as a bug? That is a hell lot of time they've had. It a minor issue I know but TellTale sales unpatched game on GOG and I have no idea why. That's bad PR for both.

Ah ok, I didn't notice that.

I know, but I told you what the guy from gog told me... I think is a telltales fault (you can see that on gog there is not a mac version of this game while you can find a mac version on telltales site and on steam... for this game I've made a mac port with wineskin... because I didn't notice before I bought it and on telltales site and on steam was at full price)... and when I ask to both support only gog support helped me (telltales support treated me like shit... in fact this is the first and last title telltales I bought).
In any case, you're right but I personally can not help it ... and I decided not to have support from telltales (because in any case I do not want to be treated badly), while support gog helped me as far as he could.
