Say that I want to switch the game to a different computer, how can I transfer the save files?

After a little digging, I found my save at: C:\Users\username\T-Engine\4.0\tome\save (where username would be your username, of course.) I hope that helps. I'm on windows 8. I have a win 7 machine as well that I can check tomorrow for you if you need me to.

Thanks! I hope it works across computers. The other game I was looking into transferring characters was The Pit. I'm getting read to switch from Win8 32bit to 64bit very soon.

Curiously the easiest way i found it was i looked at the goglog.ini file in that directory...
[1207666523]
Dirs=1
Dir_0=C:\Users\GameingRig\AppData\Roaming\..\..\T-Engine
F0=game\addons\tome-items-vault.teaa
files_counter=1
[1207666753]
Dirs=1
Dir_0=C:\Users\GameingRig\AppData\Roaming\..\..\T-Engine
Curiously the ..\..\ translates to going back two directories, so AppData\Roaming\..\..\ is redundant, cutting it down to your base User directory.

You could in theory change this now and specify where you want it saved.. Actually i think i'll test this right now!

edit: Doesn't look like it. That information is probably for save game data removal rather than setting the game...

Hah! Great! Thanks for the help guys, I needed the proper reason to be comfortable playing the game before I switch PCs, and this makes it safe to do so.

I'll just copy paste the files onto whatever computer and should be good to continue.

My issue with The Pit is that I haven't updated it in ages and the character I have is pre-Disciple or whatever that newish add-on is called. I just don't know if the character will transfer or not. I'll find out I'm sure.

Supposedly The Pit was very modular, I suppose it depends on how it handles the saves...

I certainly hope it's similar to Dungeons of Dredmor. I glanced at the saves and with DoD it includes any and all mods you enabled when playing the game, so updates to the game/mod won't affect old games, only new ones. Could be similar...

Or maybe you should make backups and make note the version in case it doesn't transfer well...

Yeah, it was a fairly old version with Gold/Mindreader so I doubt any version would support it if it didn't work. If I have to restart that's cool I guess, since it has been so long anyway.
On linuxmint it is in a hidden directory ~/.t-engine/4.0/tome/save
