Warning for anyone interested in this game. The dev is actively censoring it for SJWs.


Sad to see this shit happen. I've was interested in this game, but wont be playing it now because of this.

As far as I can tell, the dev included an optional option in the options menu (say that 3 times fast, haha) that allows you to not show potentially unwanted images in the boot menu/menu screens, i.e. a female mage with nipple bumps on her dress.

The default is for it not to be censored, so you only get the censored menu screens if you go into options and tick the box.

Actually, the default seems to be "censored." I just installed the game and had to turn that option off.

Begs the question; what is censored?

Strange, for me it was defaulted as off. Maybe because I played the free version a few months ago and it must have saved the settings.

They were also constantly insulting the dev. You can look through if you want to see it, but here is something the dev said.

Keep in mind, this area was optional, though the game would be slightly hard if you didn't complete it.

Who knows what else the dev has censored to prevent people from being Offended™.

I get the feeling if DG (the guy who provided us with an offline vault patch in record time) felt this was something important, he would have left it in. It seems to be a very community-based game and, if it was divisive, I don't blame him for taking it out. From the sounds of it, there are other dark elements to the game that have been left in. So, I'm gonna go back to figuring out a class/race combo that doesn't get me decimated by level 5 and move on.

It's sad that they went to that length to censor a roguelike, but if anything, that he had to put up with that nonsense.

Seeing what he did here too, I guess he decided it's the best for community to just fold and drop it. Not that I wouldn't understand why either, while they can't influence big fish, the bad reputation and having SJWs cry all over the forums is actually hurting his sales and his case, as he doesn't have a huge fanbase to begin with. Ultimately it's his choice of what he felt is the best for the game, stuff gets removed and nerfed and what not all the time.

I suppose if you have invested a lot of time or money supporting the game you would have the right to feel betrayed. But frankly I don't feel like it warrants such a reaction. Personally, I would have preferred if he left it as optional in game instead of requiring mods for it, but again, it's not such a huge deal. While the outcome doesn't make me happy, it certainly isn't enough to drop the support for dev or the game.

Besides, if you just drop the game altogether, you are giving up after one defeat. If you feel so strongly about it, then you should stay and maintain the balance, instead of writing it off. It seems to me that he didn't stand his ground to the end because he actually wanted to listen to the community, not being a SJW supporter, so staying as a voice of reason makes more sense to me.

And while I do think the whole case is overblown, I find it hilarious how defenders of the censorship tried to pretend it didn't happen.

It is not companies but schizophrenias. They d think they are making power matches and unmatches between what they hear and what others heard and it will be meaningful but overall it is not, so you just perceive censorship and nothing happens except them and the product degrades because they think they stream of words et al they hear in schizophrenia is meaningful and directed but it is not. They ll suppress anything that was OK but was heard in their schizophrenia under any of many delusions they cannot confirm but the act will satisfy them rationally as very meaningful and take of control when in fact it is just losing the control of whoever was thinking of the thing and was heard irregardless. So if the feature on cats becomes very popular they will hear cats everywhere and will suppress any cat aspect in the game because then they stop hearing about cats in their schizophrenia and it will look feel very meaningful and powerful because otherwise they can do nothing and people will keep thinking of the cats in the game and producing their hallucinations and delusions because cats were very successful in terms of the game but suppressing them is an even more successful silence in the minds of the schizophrenic! But in the end the game was just degraded, they will still hear voices and the people who were thinking about it MAY, pass into any other thing or just keep remembering the thing til the censors finish destroying the whole work to stop hearing those voices speaking of cats or criticizing cats or worse, hating the whole cat thing because it is no longer working! They choose, but we ll insist they have to go see the psychiatrist and speak of the voices WITHOUT degrading or denying or suppressing the product...
