As noted on other websites you can edit the userdef.cfg file to achieve a first person view. It's more of a fun curiosity imo as I personally prefer the top-down view. Also, the sprite objects still have a top-down look to them in the FPS mode which looks odd of course. LOL

Just add these lines to the usedef.cfg file in your game directory:

bind K ";-6dof; sv_parallelSprites 0"
bind k ";-6dof; sv_parallelSprites 0"
bind L ";+6dof; sv_parallelSprites 3"
bind l ";+6dof; sv_parallelSprites 3"

In this example the K & L keys let you flip between the FPS and top-down views.

This also works in another Vampire engine game called Mageslayer which GOG does not have yet. According to MobyGames Necrodome is also a Vampire engine game, which GOG also just released, and I have no idea what effect this will have on that game. Will have to try.

Very happy to see Take No Prisoners released on GOG as the original game's installer did not work on modern Windows. Instabuy for me. Hopefully, Mageslayer comes soon.

Necrodome has no console and cfg file is in different format - it was the first game using vampire engine. Take no Prisoners and Mageslayer were done after Raven took quake engine (the hexen 2 - though it was released later) in their hands and I think they were inspired to add some things similar options to vampire engine (more over they were the closest company to Id).

You can use "~" to activate the console and with "help" you can see the options there. You can change the skybox color , expand fov view in first person and so on. Some of the options make sense only in first person...
