It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I'll paste in the full post:
you need to have a couple of things installed to get the source port running: win7 platform update (if you have win7), Net Framework 4.7.2 (plain 4.7 may fail to install), VC++2015 and OpenAL.
this is mostly meant for Win7 users, so I don't think it will help here, but no harm in trying.

posting your full system specs would also be a good idea.

My system is as follows,

intel core i7 3770 CPU
Gerforce GTX 970 with latest 399.07 drivers
16.0 GB system ram
Up to date Windows 10

I've tried the tips such as installing VC++ 2015, OpenAL etc. None of it works. I've copy pasted the following text from a file in the game directory (stdout.txt) that seems to be some kind of error log.

BTW, the source port is available on GOG. Just redownload the game as it's now included. It doesn't show up as an update, and it hasn't been announced anywhere.

DarkSaber2k: Then why post?

Kilg00re: Because it lets people know that it does work for some people, which may suggest ways to solve the problem since not everyone is having a problem.
Yeah sorry, frustration boiled over for moment, was looking forward to playing this.
Why was the enhanced edition completely replaced by this broken source port?
They should at least give us the option to chose which version we want to play.
Good thing I keep GOG installers backed up.
Also, wasn't Galaxy supposed to give us the option to roll back updates, in case they brake something?
Now would be a good time to use this feature but I can't find it anywhere.
Not everyone will have the installer for the enhanced edition on their drive.

No worries, I've been on that end of the frustration stick myself

It isn't broken for me, but obviously some people are having issues, both here and on Steam. Be patient, I'm sure NightDIve is looking into it.

Go to settings, disable Auto Update and select the version you want.

Thanks for reminding me about this option! At least I can play the game until the Source Update is fixed.
Well I got it working!

Rather than using the galaxy client, I downloaded the manual installer, and installed it to a simpler path structure, in this case rather than the Galaxy client games file, I just installed it to C:\games\System Shock Enhanced Edition.

Finally got to the menu screen!
I manually downloaded the game (I generally don't use Galaxy) and installed to my own GOG Games folder. Is this possibly why my version works? It's worth a try.
