Yes Umm... is the walking fixed because the walking was getting stuck ON which made the character continue to walk even If I wasn't pushing anything

Also PLEASE do something about the BLUE glare / Bloom please enable a slider so we can configure it. I ended up with a headache from it

Could you also Mimic the walking effects of the unity demo they feel very stunted in this version and some keypresses are not registered left or right and forward and left or right and backwards

Thank you for fixing the climbing animations Stephen.

Is this update available now? The download page still says v.21. Also I had no idea the assault rifle was in the demo, unless it isn't lol.
I ran into a bug where I just couldn't equip any weapon, no matter what I did. Hotbar, inventory, nothing worked, and all I could do is hit enemies with my fists...usable items still work, but anything that needs equipping, was like it wasn't there.
It might be connected to grenades somehow, because when this happened I noticed a grenade was "stuck" in my inventory, I couldn't drop it, move it to another place in the inventory, or even assign it to a hotkey.
One time respawning at the machince "fixed" it somehow, but then it happened again, and then even dying and respawning didn't help.
By the way, I kept getting stuck after respawning. Fortunately pressing "Esc" to get to the menu, and hitting resume fixed this. It did not fix the can't equip bug tho...
As a last resort I decided to quit the game, and hoped I would get to continue from the respawn machine at least, but no, I have to start all over again...

At this point I just give up, because there is no guarantee I won't run into this game breaking bug again.

Too bad, because I like the visual style, and while the melee could be better, I liked the gameplay overall (it is System Shock after all).
Here is what I reported yesterday on steam under the bugs discussions for the same behavior:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/482400/discussions/1/2277079183739202627/

Did you happen to ALT-TAB in between?

I also reported on the being stuck and having to hit ESC in my review - so don't worry you are definitively not alone!

"- I found a single important bug and a minor visual glitch – the bug being that upon being revived I needed to press ESC to go to the menu and return to the game (otherwise I was stuck in an animation)"

Don't forget its a Demo for a reason so persevere and you can complete the demo (I completed it on my second and third attempts with no issues - I died stupidly on the first one). I got a few sessions that got ruined by bugs but I had fun regardless. Completed 3 times already - had a blast from the past.

I only ALT-TAB-bed after I first encountered the bug, to see if there is some sort of workaround.

And you are right, this is an alpha demo after all, some issues are to be expected. I did enjoy my time with it when it was working, and it makes me optimistic about the full (and hopefully much more polished) game.
Where is the 1.22 version???
Feedback: Yes... so... I love the game. Huge fan, bought all of them, including the BIOSHOCK games.

I don't want to act entitled here, but I think I REALLY deserve a remake of System Shock 1, ASAP... hahah. Seriously though, how much longer are we going to have to wait? I know it takes a really long time, and I appreciate what you guys are doing... but I would REALLY, REALLY like to buy the game. I was almost certain this was the same Demo from like 2 or 3 years ago, right?

Couple of questions... when this game is released, do you then plan to make a System Shock 2 remake with it? And then... do you plan to make a System Shock 3 that we've all desperately been waiting for?

Please let me know...

I'm a 42 year old man with a family, career, and don't really play games anymore, but I would literally go buy a brand new computer tomorrow if a remake of System Shock came out. I was taking my kids to Universal Studios a few months ago (just before the whole COVID nonsense), and I saw some kid... probably early 20s... and he was wearing a black T-shirt with a massive yellow/green TriOptimum logo on it. He was in line for a ride, and I didn't want to make a scene, so I didn't say anything... but crap... the signs are everywhere... please finish this damned game!

Thank you!!!
@73vwtodd

You should check the news a bit - this is a new Unreal Engine version of the demo and from what I have read, the rights to make System Shock 3 recently made it to Tencent - ref: https://www.engadget.com/tencent-is-taking-over-system-shock-3-063434560.html and a different team within Nightdive Studios would make an Enhanced Edition of System Shock 2.

So if by " I was almost certain this was the same Demo from like 2 or 3 years ago, right? " you mean you did not download the current recent version (1.2.1) of the demo then go install it because its different from the old Unity demo that you tried. You have the first level of the game in the current demo.

The one they are referring to above is not released yet for some reason but the current one is already good enough to give you an idea of whats to come - also see their YouTube videos if you want to me spoiled further (they are a week old only - Reference:

To see the current Demo without downloading it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6QXr62mb1g
To be spoiled on what is coming up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHFwOwdOk3M
Still no update...
v1.22 is now available, apologies for the delay :)
no, it isn't...

1. go to download offline installer
2. only 1.21 is listed
Thanks for the updated Demo!

Just finished the Demo and almost all the issues I had other than the missing description for the small orange light were addressed in this version - The only new issue (that maybe was already here) is that I could clip through a wall partially and see the other side of a corner (the opposite side of the armory near the toilet) - otherwise flawless experience (with some frame dips here and here).

Completed up to 0% security and went everywhere with no issue using the Demo from GOG.

The environment, object placement, changed slightly in some places - all for the best - Thanks again!
Oh, I also noticed that the weapons can clip through walls when you get near them.

@jayventuri Check for updates if not enabled by default - but I do confirm that from the Extras section, only "Alpha Demo 1.2.1" shows up currently.

Can't enjoy it since there's no Linux version on GOG... when it will be added?
Thanks in advance.
This new version is quite smooth now compared to the previous one, good job!
I replayed everything and here's some things to say:
- the impact of attacks is a good starting implementation, i think a bit more weight to the movements would be nice. Sometimes the torso of mutants twists a litte too much and fast. One time i've even seen a mutant near the elevator, shot it with the beam gun at second level of power, the corpse jumped like few meters towards me, went inside the character then on the ground. Maybe some crazy force in reverse?
- ability to jump over a ladder and "attach" to it without starting from the bottom of it to start the animation could be nice, it was possible to do that in the classic fps games and makes it more "flexible".
- ability to slide or climb faster when running (of course using stamina)
- a way to cancel the action would be good. healing animation takes time and when you are inside it with enemies attacking you it feels like Dark Souls, too late to save yourself with another action :P
- after the second bridge you find an enemy but it's quite silly that he stands there while he could just turn off again the bridge. Maybe reposition it a bit further the corridor?
- for harder difficulties i'd like a mode where enemies use patches to buff themselves and maybe when you are seen by or shot a camera a group of enemies reach the area after some time. Like an "extreme" mode where you need to move fast and react to some crazy mutant that goes "hyper-mode" ;)
