Nope, you asked whether people find the price unreasonable. Apparently most of them don't. For a good reason mind you. If you do, wait for a bloody sale, I mean seriously - sooner or later it'll drop to 50%.

No you weren't, you said "But honestly, don't you think the pricing is a bit much..." You didn't expound. You didn't back your point up. You didn't provide an alternative price. You asked a direct question and got a direct answer.

Maybe I should frame my question so it will be more digestible for you guys. Why is system shock 2 at a seemingly typically higher price point that many other GOG releases. I would honestly not like seeing this to become a trend, for instance, like they did (through reasons seemingly outside of their control) with increasing the price point for Fallout series, as well as not allowing other titles to go on regular sales (Alpha centari) because they added the expansion.

it's not - GOG (typically) sells games at two price levels, $6 and $10. SS2 is being sold at $10. actually, I'm surprised it's not more, considering the effort they had to make.

I meant digestible, as in less codified with what I was thinking about the matter. Not necessarily about simplifying. :)
The rally of No's came across as defensive, and I wasn't attacking the precious game.

I own the original CD version, so it's an expensive purchase for myself given that I can get the game running on my PC with a patch and whatnot (for free).

But for anyone who doesn't own it, it's a no brainer purchase for this price.

Because it's a very in-demand game that was out of print for 15 years, and $10 is a perfectly reasonable price for it? Because the rights were difficult to secure and there are many fingers in the pot?

A better question might be: what about the game makes you think $10 is unreasonable?

No. In order to release some games its got to be worth while for the effort involved. I'd like to see as many old games available on GOG as possible. There are still all time classics like x-wing to be released. If the publishers think that they are only going to get a couple of dollars per unit then they might think its not worth it. You have to remember that the $10 price for SS2 is going to be split three ways. Its TEN dollars, hardly a fortune!

Ultimately it comes down to choice. If you think its worth $10 buy it. If not don't.
