Thanks a lot for the links.

voodoo47: *snip*
So voodoo47, what are your thoughts on using Dynamic Sky, Extreme Retro, Eldron's PSI Amp, or Eldron's Midwife as Nurse Bloome for a first time playthrough? Haven't played before, and don't wanna ruin immersion on first playthrough, but do want as much updated looking as possible.

Also, earlier someone mentioned Tacticool, and that it might be too jarring since it doesn't update all weapons. I read an article claiming you should also use RocketMan's Alternative Weapons awell, to get all of them highres, but I wasn't too keen on some of those updates. Is it better just to stick with Tacticool on a first time, or perhaps none at all?

The google docs versions of those are giving me issues. Shtup says corrupted archive and the second one gave me some temp file not found error.
What's the deal with mod.ini? Do I need to merge these or are they only for the mod manager?
I still can't get them to work.
Guess I'll wait till tomorrow for the hi res patches.

I just ran the game and went into the basic training area. A green bar with an > appeared at the top centre of the screen. Is that supposed to happen?

Yeah that gives you descriptions of what you're looking at.
HUD scaling doesn't work right for me. It's either tiny when I don't delete the ; in those lines or huge so that it fills the screen no matter what numbers or specific resolutions I set. I guess I'll have to leave it huge.
im getting weird flashyness and colourations, when running on windows 7 64bit,
For some reason I can't even get the ss2tool to install although I've chosen the folder that contains the shock2.exe ( http://puu.sh/22u1X ).
Am I missing something here? I probably do, eh?

Have you tried installing shtup b6 to the SS2 root directory instead of DataPermMods? That's how I installed it and it's working fine. Just copied all shtup files and folders into ss2 root.

SS2Tool isn't needed, GOG version already has it built in.
fixed the google mirrors.

I would only go with the recommended ones on the first page, especially for a first playthrough. but the dynamic sky is a good idea, will add that one as well. would definitely skip on alternative weapons pack and similar (tacticool is ok though, very close to the originals).

make sure you don't have the game under program files or windows.

yes, but it's an older version, and it does not have all the latest fixes.
