Looks like a new download sorted it thanks.

Any way to tell whether its installed ok ?

Right guys, I've now added a couple of web hosts where you can get the whole pack of mods in one handy file with all tools (e.g. SS2Tool_v4.8.exe) and mods as outlined in voodoo47's original post. Of course virus free!

The Rapidshare link doesn't work at time of writing. Shame, as that would be the fastest download.

Edit: It's because the folder has been set to private by default.

ParityBit: Quick question.

So when I start up the game, I have 2 circles (rectacles I would guess) in the middle of the screen. I played the intro movie and updated my controls and they are there the whole time. Anyone know why/how I can get rid of them?

I think this is happened because nVidia thinks it's a 3D game. What is the best way to get a screen shot?

press printscreen, a screenshot will be created in the screenshots folder.

if the geforce driver is forcing some strange 3d profile, well, disable that functionality and you should be good.

voodoo, I have on my HDD a file called 'Ajare + Kolya's Shodan Head.ss2mod' which I downloaded 7 (wow) years ago. I don't believe this was the original filename, and I that renamed it to something so I'd know at a glance what it did. You probably already know what this mod does (if not, it's an upgraded version/texture that's used... well, you can guess where it's used), so I was wondering if you can tell me if it's included in any of the other mods you've linked to. If not, do you (or anyone else here) know where people can download it from? It's a nice little upgrade that I imagine most people would like (hard to post a before and after pic of it in action without it being a spoiler).

It does, for most. All this is for additional functionality, mods, or on the off chance there are issues for you (no game is 100% bug free).

OK It was that. I feel so stupid. I saw my green ling on my monitor go on and I knew what happening. Thank you so much for the help/Mod list!

GOG release works out of the box, and if you don't want to use the latest mods and don't care about (level) bugfixes, you can use it happily without any additional patching.
