So to get the multiplayer option back after installing ss2tool, do you have to reinstall ss2tool or system shock 2 itself? Will reinstalling ss2tool affect any mod i've already downloaded?
Just installed the GOG version. The game works fine, but the cutscenes won't play.
A mirror of SS2Tool is up here: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/System_Shock_2#SS2Tool

If anyone would like to help update the page, no account is required: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/System_Shock_2

There needs to be some clarification on Vsync to the game - does anyone know how it is implemented using SS2Tool?
i put the Earth dynamic sky mod into the DataPermMods and added the command into the cam.cfg but its not working then i tried to unzip the mod right into my System Shock 2 [German] folder but its also not working...

did i miss something ??
So, just installing SS2Tool_v4.8 now that I'm home. A general question about it though. You said it's a web installer, right? Is there any way to get the assets and have it install offline? With GoG stuff I really enjoy having the game and all mods backed up on disc. Call me paranoid, but in-case I ever wanted/needed to install things to a computer without an internet connection. Would I just have to copy the unpacked and modified install?
I have never played SS2 before.THe opening cutscene plays fine. Does this mean I am OK for cutscenes and don't have to mess around with applying a new patch?
Cutscenes now working due to replacing the lgvid .dll file

yeah mines not working either. In fact it actually looked better before i installed the earth dynamic sky mod. Before it actually had clouds and looked like the sky and the like. now its just a flat orange sky

voodoo47: consider all FAQs and readmes outdated, unless they are on systemshock.org or here. see the first post for a full guide for the GOG edition.
Had to read through all of the thread before making a post asking about it. I was a little confused because I was following the "read_me"s in some of the mod folders and they said to create this or that and to not dump into this or that.

Anyway, thanks for the great post! I prefer keeping the original models but with higher-res textures so I'm picking and choosing what to install.

Edit: Also, my question is, some mods try to overwrite over files of the same name for other mods in DataPermMods. Do I allow them to?

I'd like to second the question posted below:

Is it possible to apply the patch offline without using web installer? The computer I will be using to play the game does not have internet connection.

This mod worked fine for me. I copied it directly into the System Shock 2 folder like he said (making sure to over-write cam_mod.ini, and then added the line he mention at the end of cam.cfg. I can even toggle the 0 and 1 in the cfg file to see it on and off.

Edit: Side note, I did get it directly from the website, and not from his google docs link, so double check that maybe

ParityBit: Quick question.

So when I start up the game, I have 2 circles (rectacles I would guess) in the middle of the screen. I played the intro movie and updated my controls and they are there the whole time. Anyone know why/how I can get rid of them?
post a screenshot.

LightningBlade7: Thanks a lot man. You've been a lot of help.

Tried starting it, but I got a black screen. I could hear the menu noises in the background, but I had to ctrl+alt+del to get out. Tried manual intel safe mode without luck. Gonna try and figure this out tomorrow, as it's getting late.

EDIT: Deleted the entire folder and re-installed the game without any mods. Still doesn't work. Seems to be an issue regarding the game itself, rather than the mods or the ss2tool.
see the intel fix under useful links in the first post.

Fazzi: what about a widescreen fix? i found one but it wont work for me(i would post a link to the one i found and a picture of the error i got but for whatever reason the forums tell me "you cannot post any links at this moment"

i want to play the game but i cant do with the bad FoV and only 1024x768...makes me literally nauseous
the GOG edition supports all common resolutions out of the box. see the ingame video menu.

re-run the tool, enable it, apply, that should be all. there is no potential of messing up your mods, ss2tool is a smart installer.

you need to delete old dml files and install ss2tool (see the first post), then drop the FAM folder from the mod into the DataPermMods folder. as long as you have enhanced_sky 1 in your cam.cfg, it should work.

yes, see here: http://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=4141.msg46354#msg46354

if you don't want to install mods, you should be good to go.

misplaced resources. make sure to drop the FAM folder from the mod into the DataPermMods folder.

yes, overwrite if necessary. ignore the readmes, they can be outdated - always follow the guide here.

this was a temp solution, don't do it anymore. the guide is updated, and the mod should be installed into DataPermMods, just like the rest.

Oof, now I feel like a tool. Thx again Voodoo, guess that will teach me to read revision notes.

Hmm, ok, so the directions at the top of the first post here are no longer correct? Are the files still correct or should I re-download from your google docs?

Thx
oh snap, outdated indeed. fixed. does not matter from where you download, but prefer google docs, google can handle the heavy traffic much better than systemshock.org.
