I´ve search on the usual appdata/local/roaming (where I have some saves from other gog games)
... ... /virtual store (which is empty by the way)
And can´t find it.
I can see hidden files so that shouldnt be the problem.

Thanks on advance

By the way, games only save in 'VirtualStore' if you've installed the game in a 'Program Files' directory (which are protected), and the game would otherwise save to the install location or one of its subfolders. This has to do with newer editions of Windows trying to protect program files from being modified, but it usually causes more problems than it solves with games. It's generally best to install games to a dedicated games folder ('C:\Games' or similar). That's why Windows installers for GOG games now default to 'C:\GOG Games'. [/themoreyouknow] =)

Yeah I have a separate folder for games, but still some of them have the save files on the /roaming/ folder, but that may be the reason why the /virtial/ one is empty?

Hmm. You'd never had them installed previously in a protected location? I was sure they only stored save/config/etc. files in those 'AppData' subdirectories when the game was installed in, e.g., 'Program FIles' or 'Program Files (x86)'.

...Wait, never mind, I'm a dumbass. You're on the right track with the 'VirtualStore' folder thing. That's the specific folder (C:\Users\\AppData\Local\VirtualStore) that stores files that would otherwise be saved to the program's folder in 'Program Files'. All sorts of games use 'AppData\Local' and 'AppData\Roaming' to store various settings and, in some cases, even saves. (I even knew this already!) Sorry for the misinformation.

I've edited the dumbassery out of my earlier post. =P

Don´t worry, thank you for the info! I didn´t know that :D in fact I always wondered why they would choose such a strange place to store a save file.

Yeah, this use of the 'AppData' folder (which is hidden by default, being a system folder) for games to store settings and save files seems bizarre to me, too, but there's probably some arcane reason why some devs choose this location rather than, say, 'C:\Users\\Saved Games' (which no game that I have ever had installed makes use of) or '[...]\\Documents\My Games' (or one of the other half-dozen auto-created folders in 'Documents'). At least, that's what I tell myself.... =P
