Im on a mac and I hosted a MP game; my friend tried to join but was greeted with the message 'not running same version of the game'. Any help on how to get the same version? Also I tried joining his and was greeted with the same message

make sure both installs are patched to 2.42 (latest GOG patch, or ss2tool) and it should work.

To elaborate on the above answer, it seems the Mac version and the Windows version aren't using the same version of the NewDark patch. The easiest solution will be to run the newest version of SS2Tool on both games. SS2tool is a Windows application, so look into my thread on instructions how to apply it on Mac:
