it says on the store page that the game is patched to 2.4 and in the forums it says there is a 2.42 patch. well when I bought the game it says 2.1.0 on the download page for the game and 2.1.1 for the patch i can install. what the hell? plus I don't even see where the version is listed in the actual game.

also intro and credits do nothing when I click on them.

http://www.gog.com/forum/system_shock_2/new_patch_for_system_shock_2_is_available_for_download/post2

also, post your shock2.log.
I dont understand the point of your link. I am not using ss2tool. all I want to know is why does the store say 2.4 but that is not what's in the download. and again they say the latest patch is 2.42 but thats not what it has on the download page as for as the numbers go.

and also I still can not get credits or intro to work.

EDIT: oops forgot to post the log. yeah it says 2.42 there so it sure would be nice if they labeled it as such on the freaking download page. still need to get intro and credits to play.

Isn't it amazing how many times people get confused about this?

GoG's installer version =/= the game version. The 2.1.0 and 2.1.1 are just the internal versions that GoG uses, they have nothing whatsoever to do with the version number of the actual game.
to make it short, if you don't care about the mods, you install the game, and the GOG patch, and you are done (seems like you have already done that, as your game version is 2.42 according to the log).

seems like the video dll is not leading properly for some reason - have you tried rebooting the pc?

yes I rebooted the pc last night as final resort and now videos work.

well you would think they would at least notate that on the download page.
