Game starts up just fine then when I hit new game the intro plays fine and dandy then, all I have is a black screen with just a tiny bit of gameplay in the top left corner of the screen. at least i assume it is as its to small to actually tell. Any hints tips or suggestions as to what might be happening? running it on windows 7.

Post your graphics card/driver version.

and your shock2.log

It's a dell laptop that i use MOSTLY for work so unfortunately all its say about the card is that its an intelhd graphics card driver version is: 8.15.10.2279. As for logs i don't have a clue how to go about getting those.

The shock2.log should be in the same directory as shock2.exe.

That driver is two years old, please look for a newer version. Also open the file "cam_ext.cfg" and post its content here.

then you haven't applied the fix properly, again, find multisampletype in cam_ext.cfg (directly in your SS2 folder, NOT in docs) and make sure it looks like this (; at the beginning):
