If ever a game needed it's keys remapped, it's Syndicate Wars. Is there any way to remap the keys?

Uhm yeah. Just enter the interface menu before a mission.

Sure, after logging in, go to System tab, then choose Interface :)
EDIT: For some reason there is no Interface menu in mortal game.

It's some special hardcore mode which you can run from the loading screen. You can't save manually then, the game will automatically save, no matter what the outcome of a mission is. I haven't ever tried it myself, though.
