Help please!
When I quit the game I always have to restart from the beginning 'cause the game won't save. I'm mighty tired of watching the funeral! Win XP. 4gig mem and 215 gig freespace on HD.

I encountered this same thing when I tried to play the game in Windows 98 compatibility mode in Windows 7 but I was able to fix it.
You're probably not able to save because the access rights on the game's executable are fouled up. What's your OS? Look in C:\Program Files\GOG\Syberia\. Find Syberia.exe and right click on it and go to Properties. Depending on your OS, things can vary from here, but make sure the file's not locked and that your username or the Administrators group have read/write access to the file.

It's Win XP-sp3. Tried access etc, admin, different compatibilities all alternative frustrations etc. but stopped short of using the cutting torch. Finally removed program and all files, reloaded and THEN discovered it worked if I hit load after save and before exiting. Thanks for your help
