Hello,

I haven't got much experience With rougelikes, but i REALLY like(d) FTL and I'm looking for similar, exciting and fun adventures. Has anyone got opinions on this title? I've read very differing Things about it.

I'd also like to know if you guys have any reccomendations for rougelikes in general. I'm having trouble navigating the internet for them.

Responses are appreciated :)
You should try Dungeons of Dremor, its amazing, personally i have sunk around 45 hours into that game. But also The Binding of Isaac. Bot have nice graphical user interfaces.

If you want more old school original roguelike experience, there is Dwarf Fortress, ADOM and NetHack.

No, you get one license. And thats for GOG. Jut like if you buy a game on Steam you won´t get it on Origin.

Much appreciated! I'm relatively new here haha, I'll definitely check out dremor.
I bought it! Really enjoy the first 15min of playtime! I'll be looking into Dredmor in the immediate future. Thanks for the tip, DanielMeier! :)

If you guys do get Dungeons of Dredmor then I would recommend picking up the complete pack which gives you the Realm of the Diggle Gods and Conquest of the Wizardlands expansion packs(you have to get the "You have to name the expansion pack" dlc separate but that one was free so it's not a big deal) but the expansions were nice as they added more monsters, more skills like communism, killer vegan, bankster, tourism, emomancy, magical law (one of my personal favorites), as well as optional additional areas like the realm beyond mysterious portal, the wizardlands, 5 optional additional levels to the base dungeon and so on.

Don't get me wrong the game is great without the expansion stuff but they just added a lot of really cool stuff.

Agree, the game is so cheap that adding on the DLC pakc won´t be a big deal price wise. And for that money you get an overwhelmingly amount of content.

Im currently playing TOME after donating. Once you donate something which is like paying for the game, you can use exploration mode to basically play the game as if it were a rpg instead of rlike. No permadeath. Or you can play normally, the game is awesome regardless. You can place your stats any way you want and there are many builds to play.

Im having a heckofafun time with this game, one of the best roguelikes-You bet!
I'll agree with Dungeons of Dredmor being a great game, and a great value. It was my introduction to roguelikes, and FTL was my next experience. I widh (DoD) would come to GOG, and bring with it Clockwork Empires when it gets released.

This game looks fun, I'm going to have to put it on my wishlist for now so I get through some other games first.

for me Dredmor was my re-introduction to Rouge-likes, I used to play the hell out of Rouge, Telengaurd, Sword of Fargul and others back on my c64 then kinda forgot about the genre till Dredmor hit and fell back in love with the genre.

As for Sword of the Stars: The Pit yeah it's really good hopefully GOG will be able to carry the upcoming DLC expansion for it which adds some new classes, levels and the like it's basically sounds like it's going to be on the level of Dredmor's DLC's in terms of content, hopefully it's going to be priced like Dredmor's DLC too
Well, after few hours with SotW:tP I have to say, that DoomRL was main inspiration. It is much more fluid and not so silly.

It's not bad but there are few wierd things that I need get used to.

Another great graphic roguelikes:

Infra arcana - Blood(build FPS) meets Lovecraft

Unreal World - now donateware survival horror from Iron age, Northern europe(Finland)
+ 1 for tome as well.

Cheers!
Can't believe no one mentioned Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup yet!

But what about some roguelikes in sci-fi setting? And with tiles, please... :)
