Doesnt work over here as well, this is turning out to be my first refund if it doesnt work soon :(
So I am able to launch the Stetchov Syndicate by clicking 'more' and then going 'other'.
I can't launch the base game by clicking play but I can launch it through the 'shortcut' file in the install folder.
My brother, installed it on his pc and he can click play and it all works.
He installed his onto a hybrid drive and I installed mine on an ssd so don't know whether that matters.

My Hardware specs:
Windows 10 pro 64bit
Intel i7-6700k
16gb RAM
GTX 980

Brother's Hardware Specs:
Windows 10 pro 64bit
AMD fx-8350
16gb RAM
GTX 980Ti

Strange bug hope this helps somebody. :)
I fixed my issue. I changed the compatibility to Windows XP Service Pack 3. Hopefully this works for you guys!

That was one of the first compatibility modes I tried, and it still didn't work for me.

Support has responded so I'm going through the steps. Hopefully we'll get it working!
Same here no matter what I do above it still wont launch. :(
Did you change the settings on the swat4.exe or just the launcher (which wont do anything)?
It is found in Content/System.

Yes. I changed it for the SWAT 4 exe, the expansion exe, as well as the launcher exe.

I tried compatibility in all modes back to Windows XP (SP 2 and 3). I tried admin. I then tried launching in admin with all compatibility modes. The game just doesn't want to work for me for some reason.

I disabled my second monitor by actually disabling it (not just powering it off). I dropped scaling down to 100%. I checked to make sure DSR was off. I dropped my resolution to 1920x1080 and then repeated the compatibility mode.
I have a similar issue, but my whole pc freezes and I need to do a forced reboot.
Tried disconnecting my second monitor, running as admin and in windows xp sp3 compatability mode.
The game seems to come up for a split second with the croshair cursor, but then my screen goes to black and nothing responds anymore.

Same issue and steps.

Before the steps windows would identify the splash screen stall and ask to terminate, and after the steps windows can't identify the splash screen hanging requiring manual process termination.

CrazyCanuck84: I do have two monitors. Main one connected via DP, second via HDMI. I turned the power off on the second one, same issue.
Turning the power off does not disable the second monitor. You need to disable it through the video card settings.

Can you post what pc specs you have and temps, Cause that sounds like your cpu or graphics card is hard crashing your pc due to heat.
I can't launch it either. Windows 10, i7-5820K, GTX 980 Ti, latest drivers. No compatibility mode will launch. I just get the little SWAT 4 window and it sits there.
Can anyone confirm if some of these problems occur if you used the GOG installer file vs GOG Galaxy install?

I've found out that the GOG Galaxy install does not work properly with another one of my laptops with roughly similar specs. However the game runs fine when installed with the installer instead. (I also used install directory C:\Swat4 if it helps)

The problem this may solve
I've gone through the log files of the broken GOG Galaxy install and found that the game is unable to load some unreal code or module library as well as some assets.

If the game has created the ini files you can try forcing the resolution and maybe force windowed mode.
http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/SWAT_4

There are some resolutions or aspect ratios that the game may not support. Such as Ultra wide or 4K.
http://www.widescreengaming.net/wiki/SWAT_4

After making changes to the ini file you have to set it as read only. And just OK the pop up error message when you run the game.

The problem this solution might solve
SWAT4 always seem to try to detect the resolution every time you start the game and resets the resolution. It also overwrites any changes you make to the ini file on every start and exit of game. If it can't get the resolution or somehow at least 640x480 can't be set (or was it 80x600?), I think it starts acting dumb.

You may want to change the main menu resolution settings in the ini file as well (if I recall correctly).

If anyone wants it, or does not have the SWAT4.INI files, I can dump my ini files when I get home later.
