There are quite a few on Steam, one I'm really interested in (resource bar). Anyone know if there's a way to get MODs for the GOG version?
So far only thing is to hope they post it here https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?forums/surviving-mars-modding-resources.1001/

Sadly not had any replies from mod authors who have only published to Steam Workshop when I asked about the possibility of a non-Steam version of the mods.

Yeah, it is a known mod hosting site though.
This is total bullshit. I bought the game with the expressed promised of mods in mind. 9 days after launch, the GOG version still says it does not support mods. Support does not answer, refund is either unavailable or so hidden away that I am too stupid to find it and the game wears increadibly dull increadibly fast without the modability.

Usually I am a big fan of DRM free games and GoG as a platform, but this time I feel fucked for not going to steam.
@diemaehne mods work fine in GOG version, just put them in %APPDATA%\Surviving Mars\Mods

Here's a few cheat mods I did, as well as a CheatMenu (lots of helpful stuff for modders)

Now have 11 mods. Some have been trying to get the modders to put copies of their steam ones up on Nexus

Which is great and all, but all those mods are made for the latest steam version of the game. When you try them on the GoG version, you get 'This mod requires a newer version of the game'. D:

Actually it is a LUA version mismatch. Below is what I did to get them to work, for the ones that would not.

I changed the LUA version like this in the metadata.lua
'lua_revision', 227831,

closed mod manager, restarted game and it worked perfectly.
Would be great to get a GOG official response.
Adding a official FAQ how to install/unpack and activate mods?
As long as some mod authors decide to publish only at Steam Workshop there is absolutely nothing GOG can do. They can not simply steal it and provide it here, not even Paradox can (except maybe there is some "hidden" EULA fine print ;) ).

Btw. No problem using some mods from nexusmods and Github here so far (, not tested with opportunity yet) .

Adding an official FAQ for mods would be a great start until the GOG workshop becomes fully implemented.
Agreed that GOG can't do anything if mod makers decide to publish it only at steam but i believe over time that will change.

Just think that some games these days are being created with the ability to be modded to allow the game to prolong its life. This would mean that mod workshop in GOG is something that has to be implemented eventually.

I love that website, definitely a must have for us NON-DRM people...
