It seems that the developers have abandoned GOG. Any idea what to do? Any way to get the discontent to the developers? I doubt I can still get a refund for the game, I'm probably stuck with an incomplete version of the game for life

You have two,no three options;

Option A) Go to twiter or Discord and make them know.Call them out for their shitty support.

Option B) Move on or enjoy what you have.It sucks but we are both stuck with it mate like so many others.

Option C) Go to the seas and get it with all the actualizations and stuff;since you legitilmely bought it i don's see why not.It is unfair what they are doing and how they are treating GoG users. I don't encourage piracy but it seems to be the only service nowdays that fully grants the users what other big developers like EA,Steam,Micosoft and so many others fail to do support,content and full control over their product ,ike GoG.This choice is up to you.

Option D) Buy it on Steam; Which since you got it here i'll say it's a big no,no,as it will encourage other developers to treat GoG like a quick cash shop instead of one developed by people who cares about giving us DRM free games and even support for them.Plus you'll be paying 50$ beacause of the lack of support and that's unfair for you.But that's your choice not mine,so do as you please.

You know what is the most embarrassing thing of all? That the pirated versions are updated to the latest version. Literally the GOG version is more backward than the illegal versions. I really hate this developer. I regret spending my money on them

The new update probably has the apocalypse stuff. I'll check, later. Not sure why you guys wouldn't look. Fractal is there, if you mean the body painting. The update was available a little before the original post.

How did they abandon gog they have maintained patch level with Stream from day one, everything they get we get. Check the individual databases as proof.

There was a 32GB patch just pushed to the users of the game on GOG yesterday for both versions. Looking at Steam it rolled out at 8pm on the 24th.

You couldn't wait a couple hours before losing your mind, freaking out, and making claiming the developers abandoned GOG? Patience is a virtue my friend, give it a day next time before you grab your pitchfork and start accusing companies online. There own press releases mention GOG patch parity with release times, that are exactly when they dropped on each platform.

What 32 Gb patch are you talking about? There was no update for GOG. Remember, pirated versions do not count as "GOG updated versions". Think before you comment.

Bingo, it dropped 2022-02-24 21:42 and for me on my client it was 32GB downloaded for me through Galaxy

That's the whole game, though. The patch is a little over a tenth of that size.
