GilesHabibula: To the devs:
Any chance of getting the demo here? I suppose I could just go to another store, but I'd much rather not.
I'm gonna buy the game (at GOG) anyway, so I'm not trying to sound heavy-handed. Simply stating that lots of us would love to see the demo here along with the game.
GR11: I'm a bit on the fence here: How gory exactly is the game? The setting is certainly unique but I suspect it's a bit too gory/negative for my tastes.
So, yes, a demo might help me to decide - or turn me off the game.
I just finished the demo and ... welll. "gory" is more or less everything it is. So to answer your question: "very". There's blood and gore flying around wherever you walk and whatever you cut to pieces. You can torture people before killing them and you can instakill people by ripping them apart. BUT everything is so extreme that you won't think s second of thinking that it might be real. So it all feels (at least for me) like a big sandbox in which you play around and where you are allowed to do whatever you want. You can also see occasional sex scenes but they aren't much more believable than the rest of the game. So if you usually don't have problems to see what's reality and what's game you should not have any problems here.
This is probably not a game that's complex or deep in any kind. This is supposed to be just fun in doing everything you normally not allowed to do. Nothing about it feels real so there's no true shock effect - at least there wasn't for me.
dgnfly: It's censored in Germany, so I would say a downgraded experience. But if you are a man of culture, you can download the uncensored patch from their site.
Technically it is censored not just in Germany but the uncensor patch is region blocked for Germany.
