I've seen that there's Collectors Edition of the game available on Steam that includes the soundtrack and an artbook. That's usually the kind of goodies we get on GOG also but all I see as bonus content in 3 wallpapers and 3 artworks.
So I guess I already answered the question but, just to make sure, you don't get the soundtrack if you purchase it on GOG, right?

Correct, you get no soundtrack with the GOG version.

While the soundtrack was a "backer" extra depending on how much you donated (this game did get its life from Kickstarter), it would be nice to see the artbook and OST pop on her sometime - even if they only provide extracts of said content.

Check the game site, under PayPal Donations. Also, if you have this game on Steam, you can get the soundtracks as DLC (must own the game under Steam, because for some reason the game is a prerequisite).

Well, the game card never specified having the soundtrack included. Use a sample bank unpacker if you want the sounds now.

It's true; but I bought the game with the intention of at least hearing the soundtrack in the game. The sound is in an propriety formated archive (AFAIK).

*The game card also clearly states that it's Windows Vista/7/8 required... but of course it didn't even occur to me that I'd encounter a title that required Windows 7 on Good Old Games.

It's quite a while since they dropped that name for the site, it's merely GOG now (in case you haven't noticed, they've put up quite a lot of new releases lately).

It's still Good old Games; they are not so snappy about it either. Sure they have some new titles, but they still actively release good old titles. GoG is primarily the vendor that I buy from these days; I can't stand Steam, and won't consider any of the other vendor services. I really wish that GoG would implement an account setting that properly filters out titles that won't run on your OS or for those OS's that you don't want ads for. I won't knowingly buy a Vista/7 only title; had I noticed the system requirement for Vista, I'd not have bought it.

There's actually a FSB extractor that work relatively well. I've managed to extract most on the music from the game. The only problem with the extractor I used is it doesn't insert the "fact" chunks for IMA ADPCM files, so those won't play. Otherwise the interesting stuff is in MP3 format and works fine.

Update: I downloaded FMOD Designer, and it actually has an "event player" you can use to play sounds from the game. Open up Valkyrie.fev and double click on the sound you want to play.

You can also try out Music Player Ex to listen to the music as well as to convert it.
