The game is only available in English. :( That’s a pity. If I wanted the game in German, I still would have buy the Steam edition, that costs 15,19 Euro (not US-Dollar). So only users of the English version, who already pay less on US-Steam (compared to Euro-Steam), get the benefit of the DRM-free version.

Hi,

Just wanted to address the language issue. We have the same version as everyone else, you'll find the language selector tool for SSZ in the Start menu for the game :D.

Sorry about the mix up and we have also added the supported languages on the game card to prevent further confusion.
From the Steam page:

Languages: English*, German, French, Italian, Spanish
*languages with full audio support
So you get the exact same language features here.
Oh, it seems I did not read the Steam information thoroughly. Thanks for clarifying, and thanks for adding the language information on the game card. :)

But it does nothing. My game is still English, not french.

And it's funny I must put the Windows XP Pro compatibility to play it (if not, the mouse is erratic). That's weird for a Win8 only game... Win8: what the point?? save money for MS..

Voices may still be in English but you *should* see French subtitles. If you don't see any of those after using the Language Selector tool, please write to our Support department. Thanks :D.

Nope, langage selector does nothing (it even don't launch the game), all is still english. Yup I'll write to gog support.

GOG has nothing to do with Steam (was troll?).

But it gave me an idea: I applied the WinXP, and removing of scaling options, on the langage selector, and it worked.
Then these options can all be removed and the lang selector still works good!

Almost the same with the game exe: Remove scaling, and also WinXP!, must be activated, and when it works WinXP option can be removed but removing scale is to be kept.

No, not troll. The answer is valid for either versions of the game. I forgot who said it, but GOG and all other distributors have the same version, except for those who distribute the Steam version have Steamworks integration in the builds.

The point is if you apply one of the lines listed to your command line arguments (which the Steam equivalent is "launch options"), it'll work for the GOG version. In fact, that is what the GOG language changer does, albeit in a bloated multi-megabyte binary.

It's the same game regardless where you buy it. I don't discriminate against the Steam forums just because I bought the game at GOG. I also share posts from the GOG discussions on Steam where useful, and sometimes post announcements from the developers if they don't post here within a certain period.

(BTW, not wholly related to the discussion at hand, I prefer to figure how things work on my own rather than delegate them to some tech support. Not that I have anything against GOG tech support (in fact, never used them), but that's just how I go about solving problems. As I said, not related.)

Sub-Titles are only there if you activate them in the audio-menu, but the menus themselves should be already in the right language.
