Having just acquired SC:WaW this very day, as a Pacific Islander, was hoping to be able to focus on our area of interest/expertise, i.e., the Pacific Theatre, via a Campaign in the Pacific. This would, therefore, amount to a request to Fury(Hubert C/Bill R) if consideration could please be given to creating a mod based on the epic USA vs Nippon conflict, commencing on 12/7/1941 at 7:55 AM in Pearl Harbor, HI, and ending aboard the Mighty Mo in Tokyo Bay on 9/2/1945. Mahalo(TY)!

Just DL on GOG. Since my request some -> 6 <- months ago, to PLEASE consider adding a Campaign in the Pacific theatre, NOTHING has resulted. Very disappointing! Frankly, too much of this product is a rehash of War in Europe, and redundant. Also, the scale and scope of managing UK, USSR, AND USA is simply TOO MUCH for 1(ONE) human to handle! Have both W in E and W@W. E version is 5*; W@W is maybe 3*. Wanted to give W@W a chance to improve, but, alas, it has NOT. Sorry, but there it is.

Hi

Designing a new campaign like the Pacific is a lot of work and we haven't ruled it out, but currently we're working on getting our WWI game ready for release, so that is taking the bulk of our attention.

In terms of playing the Allies in WAW, there is the possibility to set the AI to control some of the Majors so as to make it easier to handle, and this can be turned on/off at any time during the game. You can even move some of the AI's units and make purchases, diplomacy, research etc, and then when you press end turn it will continue.

Sorry, not good enuf. SC:WinE was separate and independent from the Pacific. It was more focused and compact as a result. The same approach could and should have been applied just in the Pacific keeping that focused and more compact. That's NOT a whole NEW campaign, just a companion to Europe. As for WW1, U already have a sim of that, so it's basically just a rehash/recycling of an existing product, and therefore easier to replow old ground, rather than breaking new ground like SC:WinTP would be. We both know that. Check the reviews here for WinE(great, and we agree, but didn't post since it would reconfirm that). Then check the reviews for SC:WaW, lukewarm at best, for various , and mostly valid reasons. We agree and indicated that in our review. Then we followed that up by posting here on this forum. The respomse was, and still is, vague, evasive, and unsatisfactory a year later. Instead you chose to rehash/recycle your existing WW1 product, which you seem to have a penchant for. We've moved on to other WW2 sims which, at the tactical level, in terms of land, sea, and air, with campaigns and scenarios, do justice, with a worthy, comprehensive, and detailed effort to a period in history, that for us Pacific Islanders, remains real and relevant still to this day. We are never allowed to forget those dark and bloody years that began that Sunday morning of Dec 7, 1941. Each year it is marked with solemn and reverent ceremonies that evoke deep emotion and passion. It shall ever remain an integral part of our hearts, spirits, and souls. A hui hou.

Strange, seems your acting like some drug addict freaking out that your dealer doesn't have exactly what you desire at this exact moment. They are making outstanding games right now, you clearly love them, as you desperately want them to make on of your favorite theater in the war. Show some respeact, and I'll pass on checking back on this thread as your posts are beligerent at best. Thank you Fury, for such great work. I too wan't a Pacific war theater in this engine, but understand that it's a massive project that is far from some little mod. Keep making great games, take care.

There is now a sim that does credit to the Pacific Theater during WW2. "WarPlan Pacific" was released some two weeks ago, and is a superior treatment, as well as being faithful to the campaigns. This is a companion product to WarPlan, the Eurpean Theater during WW2. These are the products of a SINGLE developer, and in that context, are a stunning achievement, to which we say Bravo Alvaro S!
