Just what it says on the tin. If a copy can be tracked down, it'd be a great extra to package in with the game, especially since it apparently provides some of the plot that the wonderfully terrible intro movie just hints at (at least I assume it does given the wikipedia entry and the allusions in the manual). I hope that -some- of the backstory will get a bit more explanation in the game, but given the era of its release, I wouldn't put too much money on it.
The title is actually "Thera Awakening". For those desperate for a copy, there are some selling by third party members on Amazon. They range from a dollar up to the ridiculous. However, getting a PDF via GOG would I'm sure be much preferred.
According to wikipedia, the rights for the novel went to Interplay. Since Interplay has been bought/sold, evicted, killed, and now possibly re-emerged, I'm not sure if the book belongs to anyone or is considered public domain. If someone could say for sure that it was public domain, then a scanned copy from an owner might be nice. However, I'm guessing no one really knows it's legal status which is why GOG hasn't put it out.

I sit corrected. And my money's on there simply not being a readily available copy around to scan into PDF.
I'm pretty sure I still have that book on my bookshelf. I'll check when I get home. I don't know good it will good if I have it, but now I want to know for my own knowledge.
I have the novella and i know where it is and it is in good shape. I would be willing to scan it and provide it to GOG so everyone can download it. Just let me know.
I have also confirmed I still have it. I'm looking at it right now.
I have 'The Oath of StoneKeep', it was quite good. :)
It'd be nice to have a copy of Thera Rising to go along with Stonekeep.

Yes please. I would very much appreciate it if you took the time to scan it in. Thank you.
I still have the original disc and novella in perfect condition. But i don't really have access to a scanner.
but if anyone at GoG is willing to do this, I'll gladly ship it over.
*Bump*
Really, I want this!
I also would like this. Does anyone know if GOG has / can get the rights to distribute it with the game?
Hi guys,
You know, in theory, we could try.
But we would like to give you this in GOG made PDF with nice design, not the scan of the book.
That means that we would need OCR version of a book and it's not so simple :(

Is it possible that Interplay could provide that? I don't know much about OCR. It would be great to have a nice PDF version but if it's only possible to get a scan of the book that would still be good.

I'll try to do something with it, ok? :)
