...or is the first underground level ridicolously hard!? I just can't kill the two goblins in the council room. I read somewhere else on the forum that a magical dagger is supposed to make things easier, but so far I only found a dagger with a red hilt that shoots some sort of fireballs. That would be great, if it wasn't that its charges are depleted after 2 or 3 hits.
Any hint?

Are those the warm throwing knifes ?
Anyway, if you really can't beat the two shargas in the council room and you want to go back for the Sharp Dagger (and yes, it does make combat alot easyer, specially early on) the bad news is that you have to restart, because after following Thera down the stairs the secret area where the dagger is becomes unavailable.
So, if you feel like restarting and grabbing that dagger:
First, while ingame, press Shift+F8 so that you can see the X,Y coordinates on screen.
Now, on the starting level, before following Thera down the stairs, move the lever 3 times. Next go to W X05 Y22 for a hidden lever in a wall stash. That lever will open up a secret area. The Sharp Dagger is in another wall stash @ N X07 Y23 in that secret area.
Good Luck.
Thanks! The dagger is really making my life easier, and the game just became a tenfold more fun!
Are there many more secrets in the world of Stonekeep?
***SPOILERS***
There are definitely more secrets, but I don't think there's any that are quite as secret as that dagger. As a rule, check out the walls for secret buttons and such as you explore. Some walls can also be walked through, or smashed.
Many feel that the dagger actually makes the game too easy early on, but those Shargas are pretty tough. One thing that can help actually is moving around a lot during battle. It seems weird at first but quickly turning around and then backing away from the enemies makes it harder for them to hit you, and you can throw things at them in the meantime. If you've found any arrows, you can actually throw those at enemies to do some decent damage. Otherwise you can throw rocks, and often hit them a few times with a melee weapon as you're turning around, or as they approach you from a distance. These tactics, combined with eating healing items, makes these guys beatable without the sharp dagger. You'll find some nicer equipment soon too that makes combat a bit easier in general.
I can say that with that dagger, you won't find a better weapon until MUCH later in the game, which can make finding items less fun than it would be normally.

You're welcome ;)
There are many secrets fo find, secret areas, secret wall stashes, illusion walls, fake walls, etc., but they don't get 'locked' like that first one, so that first one is kinda unique in that sense.
Is not that dagger from the first level more of an exploit then a secret to use? This is the best weapon in the entire game, correct?
Well, i don't see it as an exploit. I mean, it's not like players are using an engine glitch or something to get it, the dagger was planted there.
I think there are more powerfull weapons in the game. And there's at least one more Sharp Dagger to be found later on.

It is almost the best weapon. There are a few weapons that are better but they're not found until quite close to the end of the game. Many do consider it to basically be an exploit, although, as Namur points out, it's not technically cheating to find it.
Well, exploit or not, if people enjoy the game by grabbing it instead of being utterly frustrated with combat and maybe give up on the game entirely, that's fine by me.

You may be correct, but I only wanted to point out it is not something that is intended to used as far as I can see. I thought is used there is little incentive to use other weapons and develop those various skills. People can play any way they wish and have fun at; it is all good. After all it is only a game. :o)

I think because people will want to raise all of Drake's stats ( except maybe shield :) ) they'll end up not relying too much on the dagger, and they'll soon branch out in terms of weapons, maybe pulling the dagger out here and there when they're in trouble.
But, yes, i can see how some may consider it almost cheating ;)
As for the sharp dagger, I did intentionally miss it and plan to take it on my second playthrough. Don't wanna break the fun now :)
