Btw. Today I completed Still Life 2, and while it's not as good as this game, it managed to suck me in. So don't believe all the hate that Still Life 2 got, especially not if you liked the first game.
The problems with the sequel is that it features a flawed inventory system, it feels like the developer got a clever idea, but had to rush the game out the door, as a result the game ended up with an inventory the seems to want to be more realistic than most games, but isn't and instead manages to annoy the player.
Oh, and since the game is made entirely with 3d gfx, and the game clearly was rushed out the door, the game isn't exactly beautiful.
So the game has some problems, but the plot will glue you to the screen, and on top of that, it's a pretty lengthy game, but don't be too proud to use a walkthrough now and then, because there are some illogical puzzles and that annoying inventory system.
Oh and btw. You CAN actually die several times, but it doesn't feel wrong when these timed sequences happen, as they fit well into the context of the game, and you can always save the game when something happens (and when nothing happens). :-)
The game also has 2 endings, I won't say anything other than the Good ending is pretty hard to achieve (again, walkthrough is no shame in my book).
Finally, Still Life 2 is mainly about a new case for Mcpherson, but the player will discover who the killer of Still Life 1 was. ;-)
I hope Still Life 2 will find it's way to GOG soon as it's an underated game Imho.
Ps. This game reminds me of films like SE7EN and SAW (The first film only!) and That CSI story by Quentin Tarantino. AND Kiss the Girls with Morgan Freeman. :-)
