Game installed fine, no GOG Galaxy. Upon launching the game I get an error that VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing, try reinstalling to fix the problem.

When I click ok, the game proceeds to launch fine and play. Have not had any other quirks yet.

I also get this error message, and the one obvious thing we have in common is not using Galaxy. Perhaps it's something missing from the off-line installers?
Would either of you have a moment to send me your game log? It's a single file located in the "Log" folder. You can send it to support@stellartactics.com.

That may help me identify the problem.
I just sent a copy of the requested log to that address.

I don't know if this is an issue caused by using an off-line installer, as two cases hardly forms a pattern, but please remember that there are still many people that dislike launcher programs like Steam or Galaxy. In actuality, it was the fact that GoG didn't use one that brought Good Ol' Games to my attention, so I still regularly use the GoG downloader to get my installs and don't use either Galaxy or Steam for any game.

Some game developers have begun including features that simply don't work if you don't have galaxy (or steam) running (even when playing single player... Hello Games, I'm looking at YOU), and I sincerely hope that you won't be one of those developers.

Thanks for looking into this issue.
Regarding this problem - I believe installing the VC++ 2019 redist may solve the problem on Win7 if you are still using that OS and getting the "VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing" error after installing. Link below:

Thanks go to Toccatta for looking into this. Let me know if this helps if you are having the issue. I'll get in touch with GOG to update the redists included in the installer.

Thank you. This seem to have solved the issue.

It worked for me as well (+1 Toccatta).

When I went to the Windows VC++2019 download page I found I had three choices one for x86, one for x64 and something else. I didn't know but went for the x64 version, downloaded, installed and it worked, no more error message.

Like Wolfshawk it was running anyway, but I was waiting for it to crash at some time when it needed to call on the Redist and wouldn't find it. Is that how these Redists work anyway? Commands, assets or something the game uses at some point to save the developer some programming time? Just curious, anybody know?

The version you should use depends on your Game version, if you have the 32bit game then 32bit vc++ and if you have a 64bit game then the 64bit vc++..

However if you have a 64bit OS then the best thing to do is download both and install both, that way you are covered since many games rely on this.

Again... Thanks Halldojo! +1

I was a bit wary because I had never done this before and wasn't sure what I was doing, I didn't want to mess up the entire OS by getting something wrong.

You are quite welcome :)
