I started a new thread with this inquiry and was directed here.

Love this game but I opened it up today and it restarted from the beginning. I was all the way up to the 5rd floor med center where all the experimental subjects are and I shocked the robot. Then today for no reason I can think of it restarted. I'm not sure I want to play the whole thing over just to have it fail again

I noticed at the beginning of the game that the "Save Feature" didn't seem to work. I didn't really care because it always would start quickly at the place it ended previously. But I haven't been able to find any saves, I have a feeling they are some how incorporated into the new GOG down loader.

OK, now I have to repoint it back to the actual Stasis program. I'm not finding it under "Stasis" in Program files or X86 Program files. How about a hint, all the other games are there. Stasis is being illusive.
Wow, this sure has turned into a hassle. I finally found a semblance of Stasis under X86 Program file and the "Galaxie Client. There is a folder named "Stasis" But the "Saves", I have 7 of them, will not launch when pointed to The Icon that says "Stasis" or the icon that says "Launch STASIS" I'm not sure how they got pointed away from the game in the first place, but they do not want to point or load. Or have I even found the actual program? As I stated at first it was the only one contained in the download client "Galaxy" from GOG. The rest of the games from GOG are indipendant.

When I downloaded "Galaxy" it gave me no choice on this game but to down load it through Galaxy. It said Try me. I did, I don't think your going to get a positive review.
codestar7 - feel free to review the game as you wish.
We have no control over where GOG stores the files, they manage this process so your best bet is to speak to them. They build the installer and integrate it into Galaxy etc

The savegames, as per the FAQ and troubleshooting are stored here:

PC Users: - (REPLACE USERNAME WITH YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME, YOU CAN GET IT BY TYPING %APPDATA% INTO EXPLORER)
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\The Brotherhood\Stasis\Savegames

I am not sure what you would like to do, if you would be so kind as to:

Move all the savegames out of the C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\The Brotherhood\Stasis\Savegames folder, load stasis and see if you have a clear list of saves to load.
Then we know this is the correct folder - then you can shift new saves in etc.
GOG may be storing your saves in the cloud, so maybe turn off that feature and then see if the saves are then stored locally.
In that case the game becomes unplayable. I discovered 5 saves but they are incorporated in GOG Galaxy and in my library there is still no link to download a clean copy of Stasis. When selected the only download for stasis is Gogalaxy.
A disappointing showing for GOG
Now I've discovered ALL of the games I've bought, a considerable amount are linked ONLY to GOG Galaxy.
Found a somewhat obscure link under a drop down menu, Trying to get a clean copy.
As a general rule I don't configure Gaming Files. It's a game, it's supposed to be fun. Thank you GOG.

OK, I went to the trouble of clearing most of the files created by GOG Galaxy, it doesn't do a very clean uninstall. Then downloaded a clean stand alone copy of STASIS. I have the old files in their original folder on my desktop. I'll hunt for a folder in the new game to place the old bookmarks. Unless of course you'd like to chime in with the proper folder.

No such luck, although with the clean install the "Save and Reload" portion of the game appears to function now, there doesn't seem to be a way to incorporate the old "Bookmarks" into the new game.

OK, Here is the low down. The brotherhood has been very helpful. I played through almost to the end in the game I downloaded through the GOG Galaxy Client. There didn't seem to be any functionality in the "Save Game" screen. Then after a week and 7 save points, assigned, (I assume) just by quitting the game, all those save points for some reason were re designated as CD's in Nero 9. No amount of re-configuring or renaming the save points would allow me to continue the game. The Brotherhood Rep sent me a claim # for Steam. Steam took like a day to update but finally got itself going. I downloaded the game through my steam account but it still didn't have any functional saves so in frustration I just started back at the beginning.

I have played almost up to my last save point on the old GOG game. The game doesn't run nearly as smoothly or fast as in the GOG game. I think it's because your playing through a steam online client which lags through a steam server. So with all the trials and tribulations does anyone think I could uninstall the steam version and keep the saves then reload the GOG version and have the new saves work in the GOG version or is it just a fantasy to even consider.

BTW there is no functionality on the "Save Screen" portion of the steam version of the game either.

Just wondering if anyone will see this ...or care.

Hi Code - can you elaborate on this:

BTW there is no functionality on the "Save Screen" portion of the steam version of the game either.

Also, the savagames are not client specific - so you can use mac saves on pc on GOG and STEAM - where they are saved is based on the client but the actual .dat files are universal to STASIS. I am not sure about the Nero association issue - very odd!

If for any reason your saves get zonked, I am happy to provide a save to where-ever you were last. Sorry you are having such issues; we haven't had anybody experience this before but thanks for your awesome perseverance!

The bookmark saves have a DAT extension. The file type apparently was registered to Nero 9. As you are not opening the bookmark saves directly it wouldn't particularly matter.

I just wish game devs would quit hiding/burying the save folder all the time, as it stands we have to search five different locations 2 in hidden files!..It's irritating to say the least, otherwise, great game, glad I bought it!!
The Operating systems require us to use these long paths - I agree that they are a mouthful of typing.
Basically the issue is that we need write access to a folder, we can never guarantee that the player has access to a specific folder, i.e. we may not have permission to write to their game folder which means saves cannot be created. The idea is that the 'user environment path' always has write access. The alternative is to write to the registry which I personally dislike.
Thank you everyone! I was playing this game on one computer then decided to play it on another.

All of this information helped a lot, even with me playing the game at the end of 2016. Because of this, I don't have to start from the beginning again.

Thank you!
